Profile: Sally Bowsman: Sally's first roots in addressing the public was as an actress - but she wasn't very good at it and so abandoned plans for a lengthy career at a very early stage.  She then took on a post in the current affairs department at London Weekend Television - working with a researcher by the name of Greg Dyke!  He used to make Sally coffee on a regular basis - Sally hopes that Greg moved on to have some sort of prominent career but doubts it!

The move behind a microphone came when she took on a post as a traffic news announcer for the AA - and went on to appear on a number of stations including Classic FM.  After this, she took on her first presenter role with BFBS (British Forces Broadcasting Service), BBC World Service and also on commercial radio.

Sally gave birth to Harry in 1987 and spent some time away from the broadcasting spotlight to be with him.  After the need arose to earn some hard cash, she went back to work for BBC GLR (now BBC London Live) as their Chief Travel Reporter, seen and heard on local TV and radio accordingly.

Outside of her radio work, Sally is devoted to her rapidly growing son, and enjoys a trip to her local fitness club to give her 'healthy size 16 figure' a workout.

Whereabouts: Sally first appeared on Radio 2 in 1998, as their first official travel reporter, quickly becoming the focus of playful insults and innuendo at the hands of presenters like Terry Wogan and Johnnie Walker.  With broad shoulders, she now gives what she gets and ranks her job as the best in the world.   In addition, she also provides the info for Steve Wright on whose show she appears as 'Sally Traffic'.
