Aircheck LINKS HIT THE LOGOS TO VISIT (Home) E-mail us & exchange links! UPDATED 30/09/2006
Erewash Sound - the radio station JUST for the Derbyshire Borough of Erewash - is operated by the ASWAS Radio Group. Established in January 2005, it aired for the first time in July of the same year. Until the arrival of Erewash Sound, the area was largely under-served by outlying services in Derby and Nottingham, who give the area very little coverage.
The Erewash Sound website offers an easily readable portal for information about the station, how to get involved, what services are offered, and there is also the opportunity to provide listener feedback and read a digest of news from across the area. Radio Today is an attractive looking site with plenty to interact with, read up on, and more. The home page offers a selection of easy to see menus, access to the latest stories, categories designed to draw the eye, discussion forums, and even the opportunity to receive e-mail alerts. Radio people can also submit stories for publication on the site. Radio Today also offers access to scores of other radio-based websites, including AIRCHECK! Regularly updated, this site lives up to it's title!
Dave Glass' website is a superb reference point for classic radio highlights, access to production services, including CDs, imaging, voices and jingles. Our link here directs you to his 'Sound Ideas' section, although each page provides an easy-to-read menu giving access to all the other sections of the website too.
'The UK's Brightest Internet Radio Station' - QMR.FM plays decades of hits and today's best music mix. Licenced by the likes of PPL, MCPS & PRS, QMR uses home-based broadcasters in regular slots throughout the week, with a diverse range of different styles at different times of the day, dependent on the taste of the presenter. When there's no-one available live, The Music Jam offers a continuous music mix, which can be programmed immediately by the listener using QMR's on-line database. The station also welcomes applications from potential presenters who can get on-air, subject to suitability.
With an authentic jingle package, Offshore Music Radio brings back to life the landmark radio sound of the 60s, 70s and even 80s. Playing the hits from the forts and the ships, this station also plays the long forgotten hits of the 50s too. As with QMR, presenters programmes are beamed in via home-based studios, apart from those offered by station management. The station first offered transmissions via Live365 in January 2004, and launched 20th March 2004.

with nostalgia, but it is aiming to develop targeting an audience from 25 to 95
with it's on-line radio service. Programming looks set to reflect
listeners requests, but there is also set to be celebrity interviews, features
and more linked to parent company Mediaworldnews.co.uk. 'Yorkshire
Radio is your station with a unique blend of music and world-wide appeal, but
with Yorkshire very much at heart.'
After
just 18 months on-air, this web-broadcaster was forced to closedown from
the end of 2004 following changes to legislation which would severely reduce the
success of the venture - other options are apparently being considered. Site
discovered through a friend who started broadcasting on it. Presenters
worked from home using their own PC, studio kit and music collection. A very
entertaining on-line radio station manned by a rather well set up
team. Read all about their set up and closedown here!
Ever

Confused? The amount of people who e-mail me here at AIRCHECK to ask if

A presenter moves on, but the
memories, and often, the recordings, are retained. For Tim Disney - he's
discovered a whole mass of great stuff from his days at Radio Trent in
Nottingham and Derby. Who knows what will appear in time on this new
internet golden nugget? The only way to find out is to make regular
visits, or pester the living daylights out of him if there's nothing new!
Don't tell him I told you that though!

Similar, but
concentrating on earlier days from it's '74 launch. Site quote:
'..dedicated to the memory
of 194 Radio City ... from Stanley Street in Liverpool,
Merseyside across the North West and Wirral on 194m medium wave, 1548am and 96.7vhf. This site will
concentrate mainly on the early years of Radio City since it first began at 6am
on 21st October 1974 but we will choose to be self indulgent & include other items from
Radio City Gold, Magic 1548 and Radio City 96.7...'
