| JON "SPYDR" TOMALTY Hailing from Sherwood Park, Alberta from the same family as Romeo, Spydr is The Hype's stunning bassist. He specializes in high-pitched bass harmonies, as he climbs the neck of his instrument further and further into the nether-regions of rock infamy. He has been influenced by a wide variety of bands including U2, Simon & Garfunkel, the Beatles, and Led Zeppelin (with the stunning bass work of John Paul Jones). Spydr has been rocking with Romeo and Sunshine for a few years now in various collaborative efforts, including Megahertz, Cornerstone, Cornered, and -- the ever-popular -- Heartsmash. If Romeo is the handsomest member of the band, Raven is the angriest, Sunshine is the craziest, then Spydr is the coolest. Of course the validity of the above conditional equation is questionable as all pseudo-logical summations tend to be. A recent graduate of Mount Carmel Bible School, Spydr is currently enrolled at the University of Alberta. |
