The Journey of Alice the Dane, Earl of Wessex: Alice meets a Frenchman |
||||||||
One day, Alice the Dane, spawn of Thnhurn, Earl of Wessex ventured forth from the land of the Geats and crossed the Anglish channel with an anvil strapped to his bossom. For twenty minutes and seconds he swam with his arms, until he finally floated ashore on the soil of what is now present day France. Alice the Dane stood on the shore, surveying the land he was about to plunder. He took one step and collapsed. He had forgotten about the anvil he had strapped to his heroic bossom, which impeded his conquest of the Franceland. He tried to untie it, but his knot tying skills were far more advanced than his knot untying skills. Alice sat on the sand, fiddling with the knot that held the anvil to his bossom. A Frenchman walked past, looking puzzledly at Alice. Alice looked up, smiled and said, "Hey." The Frenchman replied, "Allo." and went on his way. Now absolutely frustrated with the knot, Alice stood up, marched into the water, and swam back to Wessex, anvil strapped cheerily to his quaint bossom, hoping to find a Knotist that could work his trade on the quaint knot, lest Alice the Dane, Earl of Wessex, be doomed to swim the Anglish Channel for all eternity. |
