(the) ENGINE (er who made this site must have had) DOWN ('s syndrome) |

Under the Pretense of Present Tense 2000 When Sleepytime Trio broke up (Ringo always was my favorite Sleepytime Trio), I thought I would never get over it. When I read in my local newspaper about Engine Down rising Phoenix Suns-like from the ashes of American flags, I would like to salute the best album ever, Yankee Hotel Darrel Waltrip. But I digress. Songs that start very quiet and build up to RAGE! Eunich singer who screams with PANE! All this is well and good, but it's not until you have a cello that you can truly impress. Any stringed instrument used in classical music is sure to take your screamediohardcore (pronounced SCREAM-ee-oh-hard-kur, combing scream, emo, screamo, mediocore, and hardcore) to the next level for all the little girls dressed in Thursday shirts wearing horn-rimmed glasses and writing sad poems in LiveJournals. I'm not sure that sentence was coherant. |
To Bury Within the Sound 2000 When Maximillian Colby broke up (Ringo always was my favorite Maximillian Colby), I thought I would never get over it. Luckily, they became the Sleepytime Trio! But then, as we've gone over, my hopes were dashed again. Until Engine Down saved the day, whooooosh! The rainy cellos have been fruitful and multiplied. We are not so much angry about our new young bodies as we are sad little girls, now. Boo hoo hoo! Why doesn't Engine Down ever CALL? |

Engine Down 2004 Jimmy Eat World, Staind, and Radiohead are three of my favorite bands, but I always wished they would make a supergroup. On this album, they did make a supergroup. It is groupfully super! Be sure to check out "Crimson and Cover." |
