Title: Love Will Help You Through This
Rating: PG-13 (maybe a tiny tiny bit more at one point)
Category: Jake/Hamilton
Disclaimer: I own nothing but the storyline!
Summary: Jake is coming back to Rawley over the summer! Finn is there for a friendly welcome...a little too friendly. Hamilton has to help Jake through the painful and haunting experience. What will happen? Read on!
Author's Note: Okay everyone, I have no doubt that I went WAY out of character for Finn, that's kind of the whole idea for my story so bear with me. This is a very serious subject matter and I’m sorry if it gets too graphic but I think it conveys what it has to. I hope you all like it, i have worked a while on it so please send me feedback, it means a lot.

~Part 1~

Dear journal,
What a crappy summer this has been. I have been totally unsuccessful in my need for women. I can't believe it. First, the Dean informs me that I have to teach in the SUMMER! What's with that, it's not in my contract! So fine, I figure at least I'll find someone to give me some pleasure. The Dean's wife totally blew me off-something about having a family and being a loving mother. So I figure, screw her. After a couple of one-niters in town I decided to cool off. All this time, I had to put on my annoying-as-hell, phony philosophical act and pretend I was mentor-worthy. But then, on the last day of summer session, I saw something. I walked in on two students of mine in the shower. The interesting part is that one of them, Jake, had breasts! Oh, they were nice too! I've never been attracted to a student of mine before, but hey, there's a first time for everything.
Finn

Finn put down his pen and placed his journal in it's regular spot by the laptop. He'd have to do something about this 'Jake' situation. He pulled out the student e-mail directory and started typing.

Jake smiled with tears in her eyes and took one last look at her beautiful Hamilton before driving off into the distance. As soon as she got home and settled she opened up her laptop, hoping to find anything from Hamilton. At the familiar 'You've got mail' message she clicked on her mailbox to find this:

Title: Concerning Yesterday

Ms. Pratt,
I believe we have several matters to discuss concerning the interesting scene I walked in on yesterday. I hope to see you back at Rawley as soon as possible and that you make it your business to come see me in my dorm first thing. Don't worry, we'll work something out. I already have a few essay ideas in mind.
Finn

Jake heaved a sigh of relief when she finished. Okay, so he knew and yeah, it was totally embarrassing that her teacher had seen her chest. But at least he had clearly said she was coming back. Jake picked up the phone and dialed Hamilton's familiar number. She missed him so much already.

"Hello?" came that sexy familiar voice.

"Ham!" Jake shrieked.

"Jake! I can't believe it's you! God, I miss you so much. What's up?"

"I miss you too Hammy. I think I have some good news."

"Okay, I can deal with good news."

"So, right when I got home, I got an email from Finn."

"Uh oh, did he see? Don't tell me he saw."

"Um, yeah, he saw. I know, I'm so mortified but he said I can come back and that right when I get there I should go to his dorm and talk it out."

"Oh, that's not so bad. I'll come with you if you want so it's not so awkward. It's a little weird that he said to go to his dorm and not his office. But he's a smart guy, I'm sure he has his reasons."

"Yeah, I'm relieved. It could have been way worse."

"I know. So, when are you coming back to me Jake? I'm having serious Pratt withdrawal symptoms."

"Oh really, like what?"

"Like wanting to kiss you and hold you so bad just from hearing your voice."

"Ah! Don't do that to me Ham! I'll leave tomorrow morning."

"Score! I knew that would work."

"Okay Ham, don't get too wild." Jake said. She heard her mother come into the house and call for her. "Oh damn! I gotta run, my mom just got home but I'll think of some way to explain to her why I have to leave tomorrow, k?"

"Okay baby, I can't wait to see you again! You better come get me the second you get back to Rawley."

"Of course! I love you."

"Love you too." he replied.

"Bye."

"Bye." But they both stayed on.

"Okay, Hamilton, one of us has to hang up first."

"Okay."

"On the count of three. One…two…three…" she said, but still she couldn't bring herself to hang up.

"Ham!"

"Jake!"

"Jacqueline, I said, I'm home!" her mother called her again impatiently.

"Okay, I'm really going Hamilton. Love you."

"Bye." he said and finally hung up.

~Part 2~

After a semi normal mother-daughter night out, Jake let her mother in on the fact that she would be once again returning to Rawley the next day. 'It's not like it'll make a difference to her.' she thought.

"Oh, sweetie, I was really looking forward to spending some time with you." Monica said.

"I know Mom, I'm sorry. It's just I got this letter from Finn and there's Hamilton and…"

"Ah-ha! I knew this had to involve him in some way! So, how's the boy who's stealing you away from your mother?" Monica asked, smiling.

Jake smiled thinking about him. "He's good. Okay, he's amazing!" she admitted. "I miss him already, but I really do have to get back. Finn wants to meet with me about something and I figured since you're leaving in two days anyway you wouldn't mind. Do you mind?" Jake asked innocently.

"Of course not. Just do what you have to do, you always have." Monica replied in her usual tone.

"Thanks Mom."

Later that night, Jake packed up the few things she had taken and got into bed dreaming of being in Hamilton's arms again. She missed everything about Rawley: crew, Bella, the guys...especially Hamilton. How would she have been able to deal with not coming back? She owed so much to Finn. She didn't even know what he saw and just the thought of it mortified her but still, he was risking so much in helping her. With that, she fell asleep.

. . .

By ten o'clock the next morning, Jake was riding her bike on her way back to Rawley. First she stopped off at the garage to see Bella. "Hi Charlie." Jake said in her guy voice.

"Oh, hi. If you're here for gas could you drive up to the second pump please?"

"Oh no, I was just wondering if Bella was here."

"Nope, sorry she's out. But I'll tell her you came by."

"Thanks a lot."

"Any time, Jake."

Jake sped off to Rawley. She parked her motorcycle in it's usual spot only to find Hamilton waiting there for her. "Ham!" she said jumping off and throwing her arms around him, knowing that no one knew about this spot.

"Jake… it feels so good to have you back here." he said, kissing her cheek. "What took you so long?"

"Down boy, there was traffic on the highway. Then I stopped to see if Bella was in, but she wasn't. So, miss me?"

"Of course I did. Come here." he said, motioning for her to come even closer with his index finger. They finally kissed with a love so sincere and true, which neither knew they were capable of.

"Grrrrr."

"Come on, let's go up to my room so we can finish up that hello." she said wiggling her eyebrows.

Jake found a note from Finn under her door. It was similar to the e-mail, just saying that they had matters to discuss and she should go see him in his dorm first thing when she got back. "Sorry Finn, Hamilton comes first." she stated, kissing Hamilton again. They kissed and talked while unpacking. Finally Jake said, "Okay, I guess I should get this over with and go see Finn now. Oh God, what am I gonna say?"

"Just tell him what you told me. You know, about your mom and all that. Just please don't get kicked out. I love you too much."

"I love you too." she replied, looking down thoughtfully. "Hey, what should I wear?"

"You sound like such a girl." Hamilton joked.

"I wonder why. No, I mean, do you think I should dress like a girl?"

"Well, considering he plainly said that he knew you were a girl and that the dorms are empty now, I don't see why not."

"You're right." Jake said as she started looking through her drawers for her girl jeans. She put them on and looked for a tank top, pulling out a plain red one. "Okay, don't get too wild!" Jake joked as she quickly threw off her shirt and put on the tank.

"Grrrr."

Jake rolled her eyes at him. "Okay, I'm off. Wish me luck."

"Good luck! Don't be scared, it's Finn we're talking about here. I'll wait here `til you come back. Mind if I use your computer?"

"No, do whatever you want, okay? Love you." she said kissing him on the cheek.

~Part 3~

Jake walked down the hall to where she assumed Finn's dorm would be, at the end where some of the other teachers and staff lived. She found a door labeled 'G. Finn'. 'Oh! So he does have a first name!' Jake thought, knocking on the door.

"Come on in!" Finn's voice shouted from inside.

Jake opened the door slowly. She saw him reading on the couch. "Hi Finn." she said in her regular girly voice.

This surprised him and he quickly looked up from his book. "Oh, hi Jake. Welcome back."

"Uh, thanks." she said uncomfortably. "Nice place you've got here. Wish we students were treated so good."

"Well."

"Huh?"

"Never mind. Yes, that would be nice." he replied. "So, lets get to the point. Why don't you start at the beginning."

Jake swallowed hard and sat down across from him. "Okay. Well, my mom is an actress and she's well...very into her career. Not very into me and being a mother. I kept on switching schools, hoping that she'd get the message that I needed her...someone. But she didn't even notice my transfers half of the time. So I stupidly decided to crank it up and maybe then I'd have a mother who loved me like every other girl had. So I came here. I know it was dumb and I really didn't expect to stay longer then a week or two but she still hasn't even figured it out."

"You're not stupid Jake. Actually, is it Jake?"

"No, its Jacqueline but you can call me Jake."

"Okay, so Jacqueline," he said ignoring her comment, "then you met Hamilton." She nodded, "I assume he knows, based on the episode I walked in on several days ago, as well."

"Um, yeah." Jake said looking down. "I know, that was stupid too."

Finn got up and moved to her side, placing his hand on her shoulder. "It wasn't."

Jake was suddenly confused and slightly uncomfortable, but she shook it off. After all, poor Finn was so used to their relationship being man-to-man, he must also not know how to act. "It's just, I want my mom to love me but I'm pretty sure she doesn't. It wasn't until I met Hamilton that I remembered just how great love is. I just wish she would take some time to get to know me." Jake said, her eyes beginning to mist.

Finn now put his hands on her shoulders and started rubbing them tenderly. Now Jake was really freaked out and squirmed a little in her seat. "Don't worry Jacqueline, it's okay. Don't be scared." he said, moving his hands up and down her neck and gradually towards her back.

"Finn, what are you doing?" Jake asked in a shaky, fearful voice.

"I just want you to know that I like you no matter who you are. Jake, Jacqueline...there's only one difference, and I think you know what that is." he said moving his hands from her back towards her chest.

Jake sat frozen, tears streaming down her face. She was so scared. Closing her eyes she tried to wake up, to emerge from this hellish nightmare, but she wouldn't. So she just sat there in agony as his hands continued to harass her.

Suddenly she saw Hamilton in the back of her mind, probably pacing in her room waiting for her. Standing up she faced Finn for the first time. She thought she saw an ounce of compassion in his eyes when he saw her tear stained face but it was quickly washed away by his twisted, distorted personality.

Jake wanted to kill him at that moment but she couldn't. She couldn't do anything but run out of the dorm as fast as she could, making a point in slamming the door behind her. Clutching herself the whole time, she ran back to her room.

She burst into the room and shut the door behind her. After locking it securely she slid down and held her knees to her chest, crying.

~Part 4~

Hamilton looked up as the door opened. The minute he saw her crying he ran to her. "Jake, what happened?! Are you leaving? Are they kicking you out?" Upon hearing no answer, he rubbed her head. "Shit, I can't believe it! My dad knows we're best friends. I hate him."

But then he looked into her pained eyes and knew there was something much more serious. "Come." he said pulling her up and wrapping her in a hug. She let herself hang on him, feeling so frail and helpless. Hamilton led her to the bed and sat her down. He rubbed her back and held her tight. "Shhh. What is it Jake? What happened?"

"Just hold me, Ham." she managed through her troubled tears.

Hamilton held her tighter as he sat there with her. Waiting, until she could talk. He wanted to be there for her so badly, to understand what she was going through, to make it better. It killed him to see her like this, in so much pain, like someone had hurt her so badly. He kissed her neck and then her cheek, kissing away her tears. Wanting to express how he felt to her without words. But she pulled away.

"Hamilton…" she said to his hurt eyes.

"What is it Jake?"

"Something happened." she replied, trying so hard not to break down again, trying to be strong. But it was too hard.

"Jake, I love you." he said, taking her hand.

"It's Finn. I went over there to talk to him and he...he touched me." she said, pausing to compose herself. "All over." she stated breaking down again.

Hamilton couldn't believe what he had just heard. His heart started beating rapidly. He was ready to march over to Finn and beat the crap out of him, to throw him out a window. How could Finn, of all people do this to her?! To Jake, the most unbelievable girl in the world. He had hurt her, violated her. Hamilton wanted to kill him. But he knew being there for Jake was more important. He couldn't even imagine how she felt right now. "Oh my God." he said, taking her face in his hands.

She started crying again. Hamilton wrapped his arms around her, trying to absolve her of all the pain and betrayal she felt. Finally he looked at Jake seriously. "Jake," he said, running his fingers through her hair, "what did he do to you? I'll make it right, I'll tell my dad, call the police. I'll do anything." he stated, stumbling for the right words to comfort her.

Jake kissed him on the cheek. I don't want to talk about it right now, Hamilton. He…he really scared me." she said looking down.

"God, Jake I'm so sorry, I should have been there with you."

"No, please don't say that. I'm just...really scared." Her eyes started to fill with tears once more.

"I'm sorry." he repeated. "I'm so sorry, Jake."

~Part 5~

They just sat on her bed hugging for an hour. Eventually, Jake changed into boxers and a tank top and fell asleep. Hamilton called his mother to tell her he'd be sleeping over at a friend's, then he crawled into bed next to Jake. They slept the entire night holding each other.

Hamilton woke up early. Finn had been plaguing his sleep all night. He'd wake up in a sweat and check to make sure that Jake was still in his arms. At eight o'clock Hamilton had to wake Jake from her peaceful sleep. "Morning, gorgeous. How are you feeling?" he asked, stroking her face.

"I'm okay." she said, picking her head up from her pillow slightly. Suddenly she remembered the occurrences of the previous night.

"Really?" he asked rubbing his nose to her shoulder.

She slumped her head back down on her pillow. "No" she whispered. "I can't go out, Hamilton. I can't see him ever again, it's just too scary."

"Shh Jake, it's okay. No one's asking you to go out. It's okay, I'll stay here with you as long as you need me too."

"Thank you, Hamilton. I love you, I really do."

"I know you do. I love you too. I'm so sorry you got hurt like that."

"Me too."

"Come here." he said hugging her. "We'll figure something out, I promise."

"Okay." she replied, fighting back the tears that she knew were coming.

"Want some breakfast?" he asked.

"I'm not really hungry."

"Oh man! Well, I am, so do you mind if I bring something up here?"

"Of course not, you're always hungry. I'll go brush my teeth."

"Well, I'm a growing boy...sort of. Okay, I'll be back in a flash." He left, closing the door securely behind him, taking a deep breath outside the door. Now that he wasn't in front of her, he faced his anger. 'I swear, I'm going to kill him. Any way I can hurt him...I will. He's such a sick-o!' he thought. 'Thank God the dorms are empty now! The last thing I'd need is someone like Ryder to start giving me shit about her.'

Hamilton made his way down to the cafeteria where there were about five guys eating quietly. The mood was kind of depressing considering that they were the only ones in school that weren't on some exotic island or touring Europe.

Quickly getting some food, he went back up to Jake's room, making sure to take a grapefruit, cereal and juice for her, even though she said she didn't want anything. He tapped lightly on the door in his regular, oh-so-Hamilton way that Jake just loved. Turning the knob he walked in. Jake was still in bed. 'Oh god, this is really hard for her.' he thought sadly.

"Jacqueline, I'm home!" Hamilton said in a cheery sing-song voice. Jake's head emerged from under her pillow and blanket. Her hair was ruffled and she was still in her boxers and tank top. She smiled faintly at him, trying hard to appear okay.

"Come sit, Ham, I'm ready to tell you." she said unconfidently, in response to his sad look.

"Jake, you don't have to. I understand you must be really hurting right now and I want to help you but I want you to be okay. Do what your comfortable with, I'm here for you babe."

She finally swung her slender legs around the side of the bed and got up, walking over to him for a hug. They'd shared lots of them the last two days. "I love you Hamilton." she said with her eyes closed.
