The next day at Rawley, Bella managed to sneak into the dorms. Will was tutoring a new girl from Rawley Girls. Scout was in his room, trying to concentrate on the essay he should have been writing. Bella knocked on the door. "Come in!" Scout shouted. When he saw Bella his tone changed completely. "Hey, you." he said, happy to see her.

"Hi, I was bored, Charlie didn’t need me today so I came to hang out, are you busy?" she asked, eyeing his paper.

"Oh no, I should be writing but I’m just not a natural like Will." he said.  "Oh, by the way, have you heard from Jake and Hamilton? I’m getting kind of worried about those two."

"Nope, not since Ham left. I mean, we talked for a while that night, he’s the one who persuaded me to confront you…they’re so in love Scout, seriously infatuated with each other. He just couldn’t stand not being with her." Bella said.

"I can relate Bell." Scout replied, leaning in for a kiss. They sat on his bed kissing.

There was a knock on the door. Bella and Scout quickly pulled apart and Scout yelled "Enter!" In came Kate. "Oh, hi Mrs. Flemming, how are you?" Scout asked.

   "Hi Scout, hi…"

   "…Bella" Bella finished.

"Oh yes, Bella I’ve heard of you." Kate said, completely looking over the fact that Bella wasn’t allowed in the dorms. "I was just wondering, none of you have heard from Hamilton, have you?" Kate asked sadly.

"Sorry Mrs. Fleming, I haven’t seen him since the day he left. But I’m sure wherever he is, he’s with Jake and they’re fine." Scout answered, trying to comfort the distraught woman in front of him.

"Actually, I was with him just before he left, Mrs. Fleming. He really does love you, don’t feel like it’s your fault. He’s just following his heart, and I’ve seen them together, it’s like fairy tale love." Bella said, smiling.

"Yes, I know. His father just doesn’t understand that. Well, I better go. If any of you hear anything, please come see me at once, I’ll be in the art room most of the day." she said, turning to leave.

"Bye Mrs. Fleming" Scout said.  Scout and Bella looked at each other. "Maybe this is more serious than we thought." Scout said.

"Is there any possible way to get in touch with them?" Bella asked.

"Um, I could try seeing if Jake’s New York number is listed." he said, whipping out his cell phone. He punched in the information number. "Hi- New York, New York please…Pratt…uh..." he looked at Bella for help.

   "Monica" she whispered.

"Monica." Scout told the voice on the phone. He waited for the voice to come up with something.

"Oh, wow, that’s great, could you connect me please?" Scout asked. "Thank you.". As he waited for the number to be connected he smiled at Bella, "We’re in!"  The phone rang.

                   .               .              .

In Jakes room, she woke up at around 10 o’clock, to find herself still in Hamilton’s arms. She smiled to herself. The room was a little chilly so she got up to close the window. Just then the phone rang. 'Who could that be?' she wondered. She picked up her phone and answered quietly so as not to wake up the sleeping Hamilton. "Hello? OH MY GOD! Hey Scout!" Hamilton woke up and groaned.

"Sorry did I wake 'you two'?" Scout asked jokingly.

"Um, no I was up, but Ham here is not a morning person." Jake said, laughing at Hamilton’s hair, which was sticking up in every possible direction. "Ham, wanna take this phone, I’ll go pick up in the other room." she said, tossing her phone onto the bed. She ran to the guest room that was down the hall.

"Hey, Back again" Jake said. She came in time to catch the last part of Ham and Scout’s conversation, laughing at how typically 'guy' it was.

"Don’t worry Scout, I’m not getting any...now at least." Hamilton assured Scout.

   "Right, sure." Scout said annoyingly.

"Okay, hello, is Bella there?!" Jake asked.

"Yup, she’s right here." Scout said, handing the phone to Bella.

"Hey girl," Bella said, "how’s New York?"

"Hey girl! How are you?" Jake shrieked, so happy to hear Bella’s voice. "It’s okay, same as usual with my mom only Hamilton is here with me now and we’re having the best time." Jake said. In the other room, Hamilton blushed.

They talked for a few minutes, just small talk and Bella told Jake that her and Scout were finally together. Eventually, Scout said, "Hamilton, I know you did the right thing by leaving, and I’m backing you one hundred percent, but your mom is really stressing. She came by today really worried about you. You should at least call or something."

"I know, oh God, this is such a mess. I’ll call a little later I guess, but if you see her, just tell her I’m okay and happy, -k-?" Hamilton said.

   "Of course." Scout answered.

They talked for a little while longer until Scout said, "Crap, there’s my battery. Listen we’re gonna be cut off in like a second so bye and have an awesome time together, call me whenever."

"Yeah, bye guys, love ya, Bell." Jake said.

   "Bye man" Hamilton added.

They hung up and Jake ran back to her room. "That was so sweet of them to call!" Jake said happily.

Hamilton however didn’t look as pleased. "I really screwed up Jake. I mean...I didn’t, I have no doubt in my mind that I made the right choice in coming, I can’t live without you but I blew it with my dad, and my mom is so worried. I have to call them." he said.

"I’m sorry baby, this is all my fault. If I would have just been normal and not dressed up as a guy than this wouldn’t have happened. I’m sorry to have put you in this place, to choose between me and your parents, you shouldn’t have to do that." Jake said giving him a warm hug.

"Don’t ever regret coming to Rawley Jake, your masquerade is the best thing I could have ever asked for. I just have to take some responsibility here, I’ll go call my mom." he said with his forehead against her’s. She turned to leave the room and give him privacy, but he assured her she could stay.

Hamilton reluctantly dialed his home number. After three rings as expected, the machine picked up. "Hi, you’ve reached Steve and Kate, leave a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. If you are calling to speak to the Dean, you can reach him at his office- extension 14, thank you- BEEEP."

"Hi mom, it’s me, Hamilton. I just called 'cause well, I know you, and I didn’t want you to worry about me. I’m fine. I’m with Jake in her apartment here in New York. Don’t worry there’s tons of supervision and her Mom will be back tomorrow. I gotta run but, um, I love you. Say hi to Dad for me, I’ll try again later. Bye." Hamilton finished his message and hung up sadly.

Jake saw his apprehensiveness and gave him a kiss. "Thank you, Ham, for everything. I love you." and that was enough. All Hamilton had need at that moment was to hear those three words and his doubts were gone.

"I love you too, Jake" he said. They kissed lovingly.

Finally when the fireworks had settled down Jake said, "So, what do you want to do today?"

"Hmm, I can really choose anything?" Hamilton asked.

"Um, you can ask for anything and I’ll try my hardest and get you your wish." she said.

"Well, I’ve always wanted to see the New York Knicks…" he said. "Oh god, that must sound crazy, I’m sure you can’t get tickets on such short notice…" Hamilton said, trailing off, searching for a response.

Jake had a huge smile on her face. "Well, today is your lucky day boy, because my Mom’s company gives her season tickets there - courtside!" She told him enthusiastically.

He was so excited he couldn’t control himself. "Whoo hoo! That’s so awesome, Jake!" He spun her around in her room.

"Yeah, yeah, your welcome. Let me check the schedule to see what time they’re playing today. What time is it?"

   "Twelve thirty." he replied.

"Okay, let’s see..." Jake said, searching through her messy drawers for the schedule. At the very bottom she found it. "Ah, ha. Here it is… Okay, it says…Oh that’s so soon! They’re playing at one forty five." she stated.  Jake looked in her mirror and then at Hamilton and laughed.

   "What?" Hamilton asked self-consciously.

"Nothing, it’s just funny cause I’m still in my pajamas and you’re still just wearing your boxers and you’re just so cute, sexy, hot, adorable…" Jake said, admiring his perfect abs and muscular shoulders.

Hamilton smiled at her and replied, " Well, you wouldn’t want to flatter me too much, now. Besides, I happen to be staring at the most gorgeous, beautiful, amazing, foxy, girl in the world and you’re not dressed, which makes it even better for me." he said jokingly.

"Ha-Ha, well take a good look `cause we have to get ready like, now" she said looking at her clock.

They got dressed and went to the kitchen to get something to eat. Jake found a post-it addressed to her:

'Jacqueline- I went out to get some groceries and the rest of the staff are on their morning off, see you later! Oh, and you’re mom will be home later! -Con'

"Oh, no, what am I going to tell my mom, Ham?" Jake asked, suddenly looking very scared. "Me being kicked out and her finding out I dressed as a guy to get her attention won’t exactly do wonders for our already crappy relationship." she said.

"I know, Jake, but try not to worry about it `til later. I’m about to go to my first Knicks game." Hamilton replied. "Besides, I’m going to be here right next to you, and we can do it together. We’re in LOVE baby!" he shouted.

"I know, baby, thanks for the up-lift. Lets go have a blast, grab a basketball from the hall closet, you’ll get some of the players to sign it I’m sure." Jake said. He went to go get the ball. She scribbled a quick note to Consuela telling her where they went.

"God, I hope you really are right, Ham" She whispered under her breath.
