JJB  Bio:

The Jason and Jillian Band are an acoustic indie-pop duo based in Greensboro, NC. They formed in July of 2001 in Tallahassee, FL where Jillian was attending Florida State University for creative writing and Jason was third tenor in the Merry Yo-Yo Yodelers Orchestra (a prog-rock yodeling group complete with yo-yo's.) Their debut EP, entitled 'Open' was released in November of that year and received much airplay on WFVS FM 89.9.
Most of December was spent in Nepal studios recording the bands self-titled debut full length, released in June of 2002. That same month the band relocated to Greensboro, NC where Jillian entered UNCG's MFA creative writing program. The band plays throughout the Southeast and is arranging to go back into the studio for their sophomore effort, tentatively titled "Your Dryer Ate My Sake: The Adventures of Beau Brummel and the Red Jacket Brigade."
Both Jason and Jillian have a rich musical past. Jillian (a Houston native) joined the Miami Sound Machine as a back-up dancer/singer at the age of 13. Following a two year stint with MSM, she parted ways (citing musical differences) to become a founding member of Jill in the Box. She then went on to DJ at top ten Indie station WVFS. Jason began his musical career on piano, playing such jazz standards as 'You Give Love a Bad Name.' He then joined Strutty Squirrel, a punk bluegrass outfit, on mandolin. He spent two years around the magnetic fields, and retired to devote his full attention to a rapidly growing beany baby collection.
Of course, a bio only tells you so much about a band (and even less if most of it is false) so come out and see us in a venue near you.
