High Sorcerer of the Azure Staff
This person has full discretion and authority over his division. It is his duty to command the division and particularly to guide the members to further progress their skills. He may be called on to advise the Commander in matters of anything magical relating to the safety and well-being of the castle and its inhabitants. In war, he organizes his men to either provide support for the other divisions, to fight against magical attacks, or to provide healing for the injured. In peace, the High Sorcerer encourages the Staff to continue their studies in the Art of Magic; if there is a problem that could be solved with their talent, the High Sorcerer should give the members of the Staff the opportunity to practice their Art. He also coordinates with the Shield and Lance for weapons training of his charges, to assure that any member of his division can fight in combat if needed. The High Sorcerer directly reports to the Commander, recommends any soldiers for promotion,and reports any intelligence recovered that may aid in the defense of the kingdom of Kenyon. He also voices the concerns of the division, and acts as a liason to the Commander for all the people under his command.
Sorcerer of the Azure Staff
A Sorcerer serves directly under the High Sorcerer. His knowledge of the Art is still growing, but is vast in its own right; for this reason, he should be available to assist, teach, or answer questions for the others of the division. He acts as a liason between the High Sorcerer and the Magi and Apprentices, and aids the High Sorcerer in leading and training the Staff. A Sorcerer is relied on for his loyalty, excellence, and strength of character. He should be an example for the conduct of the others in the Staff.
Magi of the Azure Staff
These ones are the mainstay wizards of the division, and make up the body of the Staff. In war, the Magi fight off any magical attacks, and may supplement the Lance and Shield behind their lines of battle if necessary. They may also be called on to heal any wounded, both in war and in peace. A Magi should always be watching after the interests of Kenyon. Any information he learns that suggests a threat to his sworn home should be told promptly and directly to his commanding officer. It is the duty of the Magi to always be learning more of the skills of magic, in order to better serve their kingdom when the need arises. Their duties also include helping the Apprentices learn the way of the division, and gain more knowledge of the craft of magic.
Apprentice of the Azure Staff
These are the newest members of the division, the ones yet untried. Their duties include learning the systems of the Shield and the skills of their division. The new recruits do not achieve the position of Magi until they have shown their abilities in magic, their willingness to learn, and of course, their loyalty, honor, and fidelity to their fellow Brothers and Sisters in Arms and to Kenyon itself.
