The KYBO is a bi-monthly magazine, aimed at members of the senior Scouting and Guiding sections -- the largest of its kind in the world.
The idea of The KYBO began in 1996 by Venturers and Rovers in the Toronto area and has since expanded its staff to include Rangers, Cadets and Junior Leaders.  The KYBO's contributors are interested members of the Guiding and Scouting movements from across the world.  Since its inception, The KYBO has increased in size from 16 pages to 44, with a glossy pull-out photo-collage centerfold of recent events in camping, and bonuses for subscribers like KYBO Kondoms, the annual KYBO Komic Kollection (a compiled volume of the comics that appear in KYBO issues throughout the year) and free samples from our Kollectable KYBO Sticker series.
The KYBO is mailed every two months to subscribers around the world, primarily in Canada, and is the favoured resource for many Units, Crews and Companies.  The KYBO is funded by its subscribers, who pay twenty dollars a year for their subscription (covering publishing, mailing and production costs)

and through advertising in its pages.  Subscribers, if happy satisfied with their subscriptions after the first year, are given the option of resubscribing for a limited time for only fifteen dollars.
Advertisers pay ten dollars per page to get information of their event (camp, dance, jamboree), or a private message out to fellow Guides and Scouts around the world.  In addition, information about their event appears in the Events Calendar section of the KYBO website.
The KYBO is as humourous as it is serious, and news of relevant events in the Scouting world are as prevalent as satirical articles.  Standards in an issue of The KYBO include a message from the Editor; a letters page; Guiding and Scouting news; an in-depth Feature article dealing with an issue in the Scouting world (like alcohol at events or sex at camp); interviews with Scouting and Guiding officials; editorials from contributors across the country; a comics page; a satire section; reviews and forecasts of camps and dances; a calendar; advertisements of upcoming events; and usually other interesting or humourous articles submitted to us from our readers.  Almost all of the content of The KYBO, it should be noted, is not in any way lame.
If you're interested in subscribing to The KYBO or becoming a contributor, check out other pages in this website for information.  We're a highly successful and fun magazine created by senior Scouts and Guides
for senior Scouts and Guides.  To find out what we're all about, why not get a one-year subscription for your Group or for yourself?  If for some reason you don't like it, don't re-subscribe.  If you do, tell all your friends.

    Yours in Scouting,
    Hermon Adams
