I don’t write this stuff for nothing, you know!
Author’s Note: I went to the BSB concert last night and almost every one of their songs made me think of Buffy, so look for more BSB fics.
Dedication: To my sister Nadia, who was kind enough to take me to the concert with her.

Buffy sat in the Bronze, alone. A small sigh escaped her as she contemplated her current situation.

Angel was back in town, his soul was permanent, and he wanted another chance. Before she would have jumped at the opportunity, but he had hurt her. Badly. And she had Riley now.

Riley was feeling intimidated and with good reason. As much as she had started to care for him, she had never stopped loving Angel. She never would stop. And, as sweet and nice as he was, even if Angel hadn’t returned, she had never planned on being with him forever.

She’d asked him for a break and told Angel that she needed time to think, but they didn’t seem to understand her requests. Riley knew quite a bit of her past with Angel and Angel knew almost everything of her relationship with Riley. Neither seemed to really care.

Shaking her head in confusion, she took another sip of her coke. What was she going to do? Right now they were both so set on winning her over that neither seemed to notice how she felt.

Her line of thought was interrupted when the music stopped and a short man walked up to the stage. He announced that their had been a request and that they were going to do something "Karaoke-like."

"So let’s give it up for Riley and Angel!" He continued with a shout. The crowd, intrigued, applauded and hollered as the two men, one young, the other young looking, approached the stage.

They stood in front of the single onstage microphone and waited as the music started.

Before Angel could do anything, Riley pushed him off to the side and began singing, "I don’t know what he does to make you cry, but I’ll be there to make you smile. I don’t have a fancy car, to get to you I’d walk a thousand miles."

By then, Angel had made his way back to the microphone, and promptly shoved Riley off. Riley went flying and Angel continued the song.

"I don’t care if he buys you nice things, does his gifts come from the heart? I don’t know, but if you were my girl, I’d make it so we’d never be apart. But my love is all I have to give, without you I don’t think I can live I wish I could give the world to you, but love is all I have to give. When you talk, does it seem like he’s not even listening to a world you say?"

Riley finally managed to get up and back to the mike. He quickly snatched it away from Angel.

"That’s okay, babe, just tell me your problems, I’ll try my best to kiss them all away. Does he leave when you need him the most?"

Angel glared and grabbed it back.

"Does his friends get all your time?"

Riley got a hold of the microphone again, but Angel refused to let go, and they both struggled to maintain hold of it while they both sang, trying to drown the other out.

"Baby, please, I’m on my knees, praying for the day that you’ll be mine. But my love is all I have to give, without you I don’t think I can live, I wish I could give the world to you, but love is all I have to give – "

The continued to struggle over the microphone, when it was suddenly turned off. They broke off abruptly and looked around, trying to figure out what had happened.

"Get off the stage, you’re horrible!" The manager yelled. "Forget the deal!"

They glared at him, but didn’t argue.

"That was for you, Buffy!" They yelled as they made their way off the stage.

Buffy buried her head in her hands, mortified. Not only had they gone onstage and made fools of themselves, they’d had to mention her name, which was none too rare, and embarrass her to death.

She finally looked up when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see Riley and Angel standing over her. Angel gently withdrew his hand and they both looked at her quizzically.

"Did you decide?" Angel asked.

"You have to choose one of us," Riley added.

Buffy stood up. "And you thought that was the best way to help me make up my mind?" She cried. "I have to get out of here." She grabbed her coat and stormed out of the Bronze, leaving them both to look after her.

Angel and Riley watched her as she left. Riley then turned to Angel and commented, "Guess we’ll just have to find some other way."

Angel nodded, agreeing. "Don’t they have another song? ‘Long as Love is’ or something."

"‘As Long As You Love Me’," Riley corrected him. "Yeah, that’s a good idea."

"All right," Angel agreed. "Think we’ll have to up the amount on that bribe?"

"Probably," Riley said. "Oh well, tomorrow night?"

"I’ll be here!" Angel declared.

"Good, so will I."

"And I’ll get Willow to get Buffy to come again," Angel added.

Nodding, satisfied, they parted ways…until the following night, anyhow.

THE END….FOR NOW
