Riley and Angel gathered at the Bronze together.

"Are you sure she’s coming?" Riley asked.

"For the billionth time, I’m positive unless some kind of unexpected slaying crisis comes up," Angel replied hotly.

"Touchy," Riley commented. Angel glared at him and he shrugged. "Okay, we’ll go try to pay that guy again."

"Fine," Angel decided and they stalked off to see the manager…

After twenty minutes and paying double what they had the first time, Angel and Riley had secured themselves enough time on stage to do one song.

They were walking across the Bronze, when Angel stopped and quickly pulled Riley down to the ground with him.

"Ow!" Riley cried. "What was that?"

"Sh!" Angel hissed. "Buffy’s here! If she sees us, she might not stick around! Besides, we want it to be a surprise!"

Riley nodded quietly.

"Are you sure?" They overheard Buffy ask as she passed the table where they were hiding.

"Don’t worry, Buffy," Willow replied. "I’m sure everything will be fine."

Buffy sighed. "Okay."

Buffy’s head shot up abruptly as she heard the notes to a Backstreet Boys’ song start up. She felt her heart sink as she realized that Angel and Riley were standing in the middle of the stage…

"Oh God, no!" She moaned.

Willow just shook her head sympathetically.

"Now, don’t push me this time," Riley instructed Angel.

"Me? You pushed first, buddy!" Angel scoffed.

"So what?"

"So that means I get to push you first!" Angel cried, as he shoved Riley just in time to start singing on his own.

"Although loneliness has always been a friend of mine, I’m leaving my life in your hands. People say I’m crazy and that I am blind, risking it all in a glance," he sang.

Riley was quick to push back and took over the mike, singing, "But how you got me blind is still a mystery, I can’t get you out of my head. I don’t care what is written in your history, as long as you’re here with me."

Then Angel bumped Riley out of the way and took over once more.

"I don’t care who you are, where you’re from, don’t care what you did as long as you love me."

But Riley would not let himself be pushed aside, and somehow twisted the microphone away so that he could sing the second part of the chorus.

"Who you are, where you’re from, don’t care what you did as long as you love me."

But Angel was stronger and wrenched the mike from Riley’s hands and picked up from where Riley had left off, fending the other boy off the entire time.

"Every little thing that you have said and done feels like it’s deep within me. Doesn’t really matter if you’re on the run, seems like we’re meant to be. I don’t care who you are, where you’re from don’t care what you did as long as you love me. Who you are,. Where you’re from, don’t care what you did as long as you love me. As long as you love me…"

He could only fend Riley off for so long, however, before Riley managed to get the mike back into his hands.

"As long as you love me, baby… I’ve tried to hide it so that no one knows, but I guess it shows when you look into my eyes. What you did and where you’re coming from, I don’t care. As long as you love me, baby."

Angel dived for the mike and tore it out of Riley’s hands, but Riley grabbed hold of it once more before it had gone very far. So they decided to sing the next few bars together.

"Oooooooooooooo…."

The entire crowd visibly winced as the two low-voiced men tried to hit a high note that should only be attempted by pubescent boys or incredibly talented sopranos, which neither of them were.

Back at her table, Buffy was chanting, "My life is over. My life is over." Over and over again. Willow was rubbing her back soothingly, praying that her best friend wouldn’t try to commit suicide after it was all over and wondering how she had let the guys talk her into it.

"I don’t care who you are, where you’re from don’t care what you did as long as you love me. Who you are, where you’re – "

And once again, the music stopped and they were thrown off the stage amidst plenty of booing. And again, they left with a final message.

"We love you, Buffy!" They shouted.

Buffy began to hit her head against the table, while Riley and Angel made plans for the next night.
