Canto II.  "A Chorus of Beautiful Memory"

N
uzzling our toes together in scorching sand
swimming together once again
and I remember reveling in what I couldn't have
but the moment instead imprinted forever

I remember sitting in a chair
surrounded by trees and the songs of nature
but I felt my heart beat faster grow larger and hair
stood up on my neck after your
stare

and those eyes filled with tears and a cushioned back seat
reclining so freely and desperately trying
to clench your hand but your heart was there instead
so I stared ahead with solemn awareness

I remember sitting in a room
your legs stretched out before my eyes
how one night soon I would possess
the key to exploring devouring your sighs

those legs became a focal point
I remember with clarity
because time was short and we'd be discovered
I kissed you twice and you were free

so I sat
Tonight and wrote a poem
would the Muse come to take me away?
or would I sit; still in a perpetual state
wondering what addiction would take me next

and I remember feeling comfort in
releasing the tenseness in your back
and you yet exceedingly shy
gave me fantasy after the fact

but the fact was it seems the fantasy was false
so I remember the compliments for my solos in the Fall
and so I sat once again and imagined for
to record my memories for reference and nothing more......
