My favorite part of creating is not knowing what I will end up with. My processes usually starts by finding a material and having that material become inspiration for my next project. I love to work with mixed media because it gives me the freedom to manipulate materials and the meaning of the subject matter. I tend to work with the primary colors red, yellow, and blue, but use lighter brighter shades of blue. Collage and three-dimensional work are where I feel most comfortable and I enjoy drawing with fluid media like pen and ink. My main goal with my artwork is to create work that adults and children can both appreciate. I’m inspired by the illustrator Quentin Blake, who collaborates with the author Roal Dahl, and by animators like Tim Burton and Jim Henson who combine 3-dimensional art creatively with sound and motion.
