Atlanta, Ga

Ok...... So, we arrive in Atlanta.....the place we played was called Masquerade, aka a total shithole, except for the fact that they had showers, a washer/dryer, home cooked meals, and plenty of babes..Well, freak show kinda babes, so I gues they really don't qualify as babes...LOL   Ever watch that worthless trash talk show Jenny Jones, or something like that? One of her favorite topics is "club kids", or as we call them, total FREAKS...... One of the FREAKS she has on all the time hangs out at Masquerade..... So, we pull up to this OLD cotton gin type building...wonder how many slaves wor...err.. never mind....Atlanta burned...LOL... So....they point us upstairs....yep...our first upstairs stage (TIN HELL FLASHBACK) At least this place had a couple of chain motors that lifted a dilapidated elevator that brought our stuff upstairs... (how handy...). So, we got our stuff set up while BS'in with the natives...they were talking about how blown away they were by Suicidal Tendencies, a band we played leap-frog with the first week....  a little later, this not-so good-lookin chick tells me she was disappointed that Lamb wasn't with us... My reaction was.... Who? She said they were supposed to be our opening act... Oh well...... Life goes on. Vuca was cool, anyway, with his beatnick attitude and music....LOL Anyway, the high point of the evening, after we invaded the foam pit ( they have a huge tub lined with plastic that they fill with soap suds and you dance in it-foam dancing!) was Mr. Biggi, the programmer, and his little pee episode.....tha moron decided to pee on a convenience store´s dumpster.....as soon as he went through the protective fence, the ho inside the store called the cops...... Needless to say, we ran to the bus, and hauled ass outta Atlanta like a bunch of outlaws.....and I never got to eat that night....THANKS, dude........... We also figured out exactly how to describe Vuca, our opening act at the beginning of the tour... What Vuca does is sing relaxing, mystical lyrics over what can only be described as 'space music'... Vuca is every 50's beatnik  reincarnated into one twisted soul...

Technically Speaking

This was the first night we tried what would eventually become the setup for the tour.... Two intellabeams on one case, one on each side of the stage, spread out as far as possible, and two down in front. I thought it looked cool, and it didn't interfere with video or text. The lighting for two more songs was finalized that night... The song "Gun" had a little 4 step chase that swept the audience, swooped to all up, went to all down, then back to all up, crossing, and switching between the cone gobo and the multi color circular line gobo.  I would slow down and speed up the pace of the chase to go with the music, making it look very complicated....  But it wasn't... When it came to the actual song, after the intro, the chase was very slow and dramatic... When Daniel sang 'Take that gun... Blow your mind', I had all the I-Beams pointed at him, strobing at various speeds. For the song "Purple", I aimed the I-Beams at the disco ball, and put the gobo wheel on fast spin... it looked wild as hell.....

Next stop...
