It was formed by me, Wullie Dunbar and Wullie Frew.
Me and Wullie D met in San Marino and hatched the plot there. We were later
joined back at home by Wullie Frew and Derek Callaghan.
We agreed on the name - LAND O` BURNS TARTAN ARMY - LOBTA for short. It's the only supporters' club in the area and have now ran
succesfully three busses to the games so far, and are planning many more.
The above mentioned formed the commitee and were joined by Irene Dunbar,
Wullie Dunbars wife, as secretary of club. I think we are the only club to have a female committe
member.
Membership now stands at a healthy 30+; we have a hard core. I was
a committee member of the Loony Alba club for many and have traveled all over
for years and am using that experience to help in the growth of Lobta.
The general area we cover is North Ayrshiry from Largs to Kilwinning and the
Garnock Valley. Though we have couple of members outside this area it's not
always handy for club bus travel at home games; though it's not a problem when
abroad.
