Leveling and learning
[Jiggs 08-03-2002 8:30 PM]

I decided to go soloing around East Sarutabaruta to gain some levels [pic]. I remained near the southern river, not going too far north because the enemies are a bit stronger there [pic]. I quickly leveled up to 8, then spent a few hours gaining enough experience to become level 9 [pic].

I soon came across a level 9 bard named Fifth. We formed a party and fought our way up to Tahrongi canyon [pic]. We met Mithuki, who was a level 10 white mage, and he joined our party too. The three of us gained a lot of experience fighting the Strolling Saplings, and Canyon Rarabs [pic]. We fought on for a while, but as all parties do, we disbanded and went our seperate ways.

I went on solo, and gained enough experience to reach level 10. I then met a level 10/level 5 Tarutaru Dark Knight/Bard named Caile [pic]. He spoke good english and taught me about Weapon Skill combinations. When one player uses a Weapon Skill, and another player follows up with another Weapon Skill, there is bonus damage. The combo we did caused about 2.5 times the amount of damage that Caile's Weapon Skill would normally do. This only works with some weapon skill combos, and only if timed correctly.

I almost gained enough experience to level, but Caile had to leave. I fought alone back in East Sarutabaruta, gaining as much exp and gil as I could [pic]. I soon reached level 11, and then I returned to Windurst to use the auction house [pic]. In the auction house, people place items up for auction with a reserve price. If bidders surpass that price, they recieve the item, otherwise they must bid again. This is generally my primary source of buying new equipment.

I now wear almost entirely level 11 equipment. I also purchased a bow and 50 arrows [pic]. Next, I plan to explore the Horutoto ruins in East Sarutabaruta. I accepted the quest, but now I must complete it...

Level up!
