Original RV Participants (1970-1995)

Ingo Douglas Swann...

Renowned Civilian Pioneer Remote Viewer and Psychical Consultant. Known original participant of the first OOBE/Beacon (RV) experiment at the American Society for Psychical Research (ASPR) in 1972, under the supervision of Dr. Karlis Osis, director of Research. Mr. Swann was one of the first tested participants in what was called the OOBE/Beacon (RV) experiments.
Swann's contributions and data would  be applied into what would become known as "Remote Viewing". According to Mr. Swann, The early experiments were under strict scientific scrutiny and were teadious and boring. Though Mr. Swann was instrimental in the R&D of Remote Viewing, Swann's former background in the Church of Scientology and other negative remarks placed and/or made by him during his involvement at the ASPR, made him a subject of controversity. According to Pioneer Remote Viewer, A. Edward Moch, in 1973, Dr. Osis spoke highly of Mr. Swann and seemed supportive of him in spite the controversy surrounding him. Moch also contends that a meeting set up by Dr.Osis for Swann and him to meet, and discuss research was cancelled (by Swann) at the last minute. Because of Swann's growing disenchantment with the ASPR, he went to California to meet with an old friend and ex-Scientologist, Dr. Hal Putoff, and also Russell Targ, who were members of the Stanford Research Insitute (SRI). Swann was invited... but according to Swann, a secret meeting with some US Government Officials (CIA), confinced him to transfer to SRI.  Along with former ASPR Research Staff associate, Dr. Janet Mitchell they joined and helped put together an RV Team for SRI.
In 1973, at The Stanford Research Insititute, Swann would be the Head member of the SRI RV Group, under research supervision of Dr. Mitchell. Along with Mr. Swann, individuals like Uri Geller, Patrick Price, Keith Harary, Etc. would make up the SRI team. Meanwhile... at the ASPR, a second expanded ASPR RV Group continued to be active with Swann's original data being utilized along with new RV data from both groups.
With the success of RV R&D at SRI and elsewhere, Swann was instrimental in teaching some of the first US Army Military RV Unit at Fort Meade. Swann was indirectly credited in teaching Military Remote Viewer, Edward A. Dames, who would be the controversial founder of a civilian RV group called The Psi-Tech Institute and the recent TRV Institute. For personal reasons, In the late 1980's, Mr. Swann desided to retire from active involvement and focus on his love of art and writing. As an accomplished artist and a vivid writer of spiritual/Inspirational and science fiction etc., Swann's personal life was again his own.
In the fall of 1995, the surprise official/in-complete and controversial  announcement of Remote Viewing to the public by the CIA and a News program on RV at "NightLine",. Swann's role surfaced to the public. Because of present confusion about RV, Swann desided to write his story and involvement in the R&D of remote viewing. His stories and comments continue to enlighten and stir the coals of controversy in the continuing unfolding history of remote viewing,
