In spite various RV controversies... Dames at one time made claims that his new modified technique, called Technical Remote Viewing (TRV) had 100% results and made future predictions that eventually became questionable. One of Dames's students, Dr. Courtney Brown, turned his direction to use RV to study UFO's and Space Aliens breaking off from Dames/Psi-Tech, as well as some of his former military collegues that originally followed him (see Lyn Buchanan). Around 1997, Getting public attention and PR from various alternative radio shows (see Art Bell) made Dames and Psi-Tech the talk of the RV community. However... by 1998, Dames's over-confidence and/or over-selling of TRV and public RV statements began to weigh in. In 1999, many of his Esoteric/Apocalyptic RV future predictions came and went. Public confidence began to wain. In an attempt to save TRV and Psi-Tech, Dames moved his operations from Southern California to Hawaii...his attempt to repair his public image and association with Psi-Tech now became a setback. What RV success Dames had in the military did not pass smoothly into the public sector. Recently, Mr. Dames has broken off from Psi-Tech, and has created The TRV Institute. He is still active and involved in civilian R&D of The Science of Remote Viewing.
