All canonical characters are underlined. No births are portrayed in the movies, but canonical deaths are underlined. All dates herein are BSW4 or ASW4. One day I may conert them to PE/NE. Then again, this system is useful, since it allows one to more easily see how old characters were in the movies. All dates are BSW4 unless specified ASW4. Vader was not the only man to survive the Death Star's destruction. So did Generals Ulric Tagge and Bast! Remember how that in the conference room Tagge was the one who was cautious, and realized there was a possibility ("however unlikely") thar the Rebels could destroy the Death Star? And remember gow Bast tell's Tarkin that the Rebel Fighter attack had been analyzed as capable of success? And remember how Bast was 2nd-in-command to Tagge (in the conference room)? Well, perhaps these two generals analyzed the Rebel attack and decided that if Grand Moff Tarkin was willing to risk his neck onboard, they had given him fair warning, and they left together. For more along this line of reasoning, as well as proof of Bast's survival, check out Saxton's Bast page. For evidence of Tagge's survival, see the Lost Star Warriors. For evidence that Bast held a General Rank and was Tagge's 2nd-in-command, see Saxton's Imperial Ranks. So why does the Death Star Technical Companion say he died? Lies? Propoganda? Who can say? This note has been updated; Mr. Saxton kindly pointed out to me that I had General Tagge confused with his brother, Silas, and that he does not die in the Marvel Comics. |
