Nanking Tragedy

The Nanking Massacre changed the Chinese and Japanese relations forever and created two enemies. 300,000 people were killed and 50,000 women were raped when the Japanese military invaded the Chinese city of Nanking. In the midst of this, John Rabe and other foreigners set up what was known as the International Safety Zone, where Chinese citizens could go to be safe. This event was considered one of the most bloody and merciless of mass manslaughter. Not much was known as to why the soldiers committed their atrocious killings. After all of the trauma and terrorism, the Japanese refused to acknowledge their wrong doings, and for years they tried to hide the Nanking Massacre.
