| A man existed many years ago. He was no normal man. His skills and prowess were far greater than most men and he harbored powers the likes of which most had never seen. His greatest achievement was his single handed assault on the Burning Hells. However, in a fit of rage, he assaulted the Hells one last time. Without the aid of the Angels, he stumbled into Hell. It is rumored that he went there because his love had been kidnapped, and taken there. But again....these are only legends and myths. They tend to get clouded and changed over time. This man's name was lost in legends and myths but his story lives on. This is what I have been handed down from the ages.... |
| The warrior, again, I do not know his name, had ventured down into the caves. There were many caves then. Most had been opened by the hordes of Hell spawn bent on the conquest of Man. Well, this warrior, he found the way, the right way...into the Burning Pits of Hell. There he went, straight into death itself. Some say that he was fearless. Some say his love for her was so great that he would stop at nothing to save her life. And....still, some say that he was foolish. I don't know myself...I do know that love can make you do strange things. And that love is blind, yes...very blind. |

| What happened when he entered the Hells is still a mystery. He was not seen again for some time. Neither of course, was she. Some time later, after everyone had forgotten and the wars between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells continued here on Earth, he was seen. He was changed though. He no longer cared for many of the things that he once loved. He was a cold, callous man, if you could have called him a man It was then that he revealed his new identity. A devil had taken over his Soul as his own. This devil was very, very powerful. I call it a devil but he insisted that he was a demon. Whatever....his name was Akuma. In our language that means 'devil'. |

| Akuma came alone to the Earth. Straight from the Hells he had the power other demons and devils dreamed of. He would lay siege to a city, or village and decimate it in minutes. There was no escape from his wrath. Soon though, he became bored with this. There was no challenge in it. The warrior's blood still flowed within him. And so....he began to wander the countries of our world in search of fights. Demon to Man. He would wager that if there was a human that could best him then he would allow their village to thrive. If not...then the dwelling would perish! Many came forth ...many died. Akuma was a ruthless being. It was rare that anyone actually spoke with him and lived for he never said much and when he did...I can only say that it usually meant your death. |
| Something happened, something....changed Akuma. Changed him forever. No one knows what but it is rumored that it was more recent than not. Involving a man named Ryu. Now Ryu being a young man, Ryu has great prowess and power himself and I wouldn't be suprised to know that he could be the one to best Akuma. I don't know if they ever fought but, I know that Akuma holds a special place for Ryu in his Soul. He respects Ryu greatly for his skills and his courage. |
| After the incident, Akuma went without warning back into the Burning Hells. At the time, the great Seraphim Angels had led a crusade of soldiers there to the gates of Hell and were inflicting much damage and casualty to the forces of the Hells. There was a turning point in this war though....Diablo, the Lord of Terror. Diablo had found the secret to the power called "Apocalypse". With it, he could destroy the forces of Light and their human army at the gates of Hell. And with it, he did. |

| Akuma, already had found many secrets that were locked away. Locked in both the Heavens and the Hells. He was also known at this time to be looking for something more in life. This is unusual 'cause, since when does a demon ever care about anything but himself? Hmm...I heard that it was Ryu himself that he learned this from but, I can't say for certain if this is so. Anyway...Akuma was on his way back to the Hells when he learned of the Angel's assault and subsequent slaughter at Diablo's hands. He had arrived while many of the Angels were still trapped in the Hells, trying to escape. Diablo had confronted Akuma with the news of Akuma's refusal to comply with the nature of the Hells: chaos and destruction. Before anything further was said Akuma moved against Diablo, striking him with the deadliest move known: Shun Goku Satsu...The Raging Demon. |
| Immediately, the forces of the Burning Hells were in chaos themselves. Not knowing what to do and most of them terrified of Akuma's new and growing powers. Akuma then stole the secret of the Apocalypse from Diablo for himself. It is said that the Angels rallied behind Akuma but not for long, they were too few to continue a siege and so used the chaos to retreat back to the High Heavens. |
| The Dark Lord was not destroyed, no....simply incapacitated. Though the Raging Demon is a move that is powerful enough to kill it's user, it is most certainly deadly to it's victim; Diablo is a powerful opponent, not easily dispatched of. Well...Akuma had to make haste away from there, he had just made most of the Hells his enemies. Though, the Angels were grateful to him, they held much distrust of him. And perhaps they still do. I would think that to be the case. |

| Akuma left the Hells and from what I know, he returns on occasion for new secrets and powers. He may even return there to launch an assault against them. Whatever it is, I am sure that most that know the story of Akuma, know that he is a changed being. If you ever come across this demon, be sure to say hello, without fear. He is only driven when there is a need for his skills anymore. Hmm.....maybe the warrior's Soul that he now occupies has taken some of the evil from him and replaced it with...? I don't know. If you ever see Akuma, tell him that the old man in the mountain says hello and hopes that he has come that much closer to his goals. For if Akuma does ever attain his goals, he would become perhaps the most powerful being in existence! |
