People Just Like Us Testimony

I began my career at age ten when I entered a talent contest in San Diego with high hopes. I ended up 1st place out of 300 hopefuls and was placed with a management team and an agency and began to commute from San Diego to Los Angeles for auditions.

My very first job was a L.A. Gear shoe commercial. As my career progressed I did a few movies that came out on video and I then went on to do several commercials such as, a Golden Graham cereal commercial as well as a HoneyComb commercial. In 1995 I did a Disney pilot called “It Ain’t Easy.” I was hopeful it would get picked up as a regular occurring TV. Show. To my disappointment, it did not become a series. But, I did not let that stop me.

A year and a half later I landed a starring role on NBC’s “ Saved By the Bell” (The New Class). I played swim team captain Liz Miller for two wonderful seasons. Shortly after, I began to play Kimberly Fairchild on CBS’s “The Bold and the Beautiful “ for two and a half years. We filmed the show at CBS studios in Hollywood, California. But, in 1999 the cast and crew took a wonderful trip to Venice, Italy to film episodes of the show and for many fan fair events. It was just one of the many blessings of being on a popular TV show.

While I was on “The Bold And The Beautiful" I also made several appearances on other shows such as “Seventh Heaven” and CBS’s morning news show and I also went to New York and presented an award at the Daytime Emmys. In 1999 I won Australia’s award for “Best New Comer on a Daytime Show.” “The Bold and The Beautiful” was named one of the “ Most Watched TV Shows in the World” with 250 million viewers and I was blessed to be a part of the success.

I stopped filming the show in February 2001. However, my character is still airing in many parts of the world. I most recently did a show for E! Entertainment TV about all the beauty of Japan. We filmed the episode in Tokyo and it aired in January. It was definitely the trip of a lifetime!

I want you to know that God understands your pain and he sees your hurt. He understands you better than anyone, because he made you. The Bible says; that we are wonderfully and fearfully made. We are precious in God’s eyes and we were made in God’s own image. The Bible also says; that the Lord knows every single hair on our heads and not one of our needs is too big for God to see and help us with. Put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. (Psalm 130: 7) The Lord loves us so much and he desires to help us and heal us from all of our pain. The Bible says: “ For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only son, (Jesus) that whoever should believe in him, will not perish. But, they will have eternal life. (John 3:16 paraphrase)

It is hard for many people to grasp the concept of God’s love for us. It is hard to believe that Jesus Christ loved us enough, to die for our sins and rise again. But, he did! He died for us, so that we would be free from sin and be able to live with the Lord forever, in heaven and on earth. We do not need to work for God’s love. All we need to say is: “ Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you.” Jesus is only waiting for you to give him your life, and allow him to help you.

I know the Lord Jesus is alive and in control today! I have personally felt God’s life changing presence in my own life, and it is awesome! The Bible says: The Holy Spirit (the Spirit of God) is a friend that sticks closer than a brother is. Through the many challenges and trials I have faced in my life, the Holy Spirit has never left me or forsaken me. The Lord has been by my side every step of the way. I would not be writing this letter to you today, if it had not been for God’s unfailing love and protection in my life.

The Lord has blessed me with many earthly possessions and gifts at a very young age. But, not one of them fills my heart with joy, peace, and love. Jesus Christ is the only thing that can fill the void in a person’s heart. He is the answer. God loves you and he desires for you to come to know him in a deeper way. The Lord says in his Word: “Be still and know that I am God.”

I encourage you to allow God to fill you with his presence today. Earthly possessions will fade away. But, the love of The Lord will never fade. God is the same; yesterday, today, and forever!
