Dustin Diamond Debuts at Memphis Championship Wrestling WNC Wrestling.com Blane March 10, 2000 The most electrifying man in Saturday Morning kids shows has come to Memphis Championship Wrestling. Okay so thats stretching a bit... okay thats a HUGE stretch. But Screech from Saved By The Bell made his wrestling debut at the recent MCW television tapings in Mississippi. Dustin Diamond, aka Screech from the long running saturday morning television show Saved By The Bell (and Saved By The Bell: The New Class) made his MCW debut in an angle involving him having a huge crush on WWF/MCW superstar The Kat. This is his first foray into wrestling, for obvious size reasons, but he has been involved in the entertainment business for many years. The angle involving Screech had him completely taken apart by The Fabulous Rocker, Danny B and Chip Driver. He did a complete stretcher job and left the arena in an ambulance to sell the angle. It is not known if this was a one shot deal, or Screech will become a regular part of Memphis Championship Wrestling. Obviously with him eluding to a crush on The Kat, it appears he could become a regular personality (atleast for the time being) with the promotion. Obviously the MCW's connection to the WWF as a developmental promotion has allowed them to pull some strings to get some entertainment personalitys involved in the promotion. Granted Screech is not a huge star, but he is a known and recognizable person... especially to the Saturday morning television crowd which is a target audience of MCW. Dustin Diamond's film and television credits include Saved By The Bell (1989-2000), Big Top Pee Wee (1989), She's Out Of Control (1989), Purple People Eater (1988), and The Wonder Years (1988).
