Celebrity Dot Com Interview w/ Dennis Haskins
(01) Question: How did you get talked into coming out to the Mark and Brian celebrity tournament?
Answer: You know it was really simple, they asked me. And with the TJ Martell foundation which is researching and trying to find a way to beat cancer, especially for kids, it's real easy to support something like that. I often visit children in the hospital. It's really something, you go in and meet a child with cancer and they'll make you feel better! It's unbelievable! So any chance I have to do something like this, I'm there!
(02) Question: Are you personally involved with any other charities?
Answer: You now it's funny, a friend of mine said once "kids are his cause" and because of "Saved By The Bell" anything kid or family related, especially kid related, I'm going to do what I can to support the cause. It's easy to come out to support Mark and Brian. You know you’re going to have a rock-n-roll good time with these guys.
(03) Question: We are CelebrityGolf.com...let's talk about your golf game?
Answer: Do we have to? OK...
(04) Question: Let's start off with easy one, how long have you been playing golf?
Answer: Just under three years.
(05) Question: Do you enjoy the game?
Answer: Sometimes! I'm playing 50-50 golf...every other ball I hit okay. So, if I got to 75-25 golf, I would feel better. Honestly, I can tell it is just a matter of putting in the time. I'm real competitive, so I want to do better. I had a real humbling experience; I got to go to the Senior Open down in Tampa FL and got to do a celebrity event before the tournament. Ed Marinaro and Rick Berry and all these guys that are really good golfers... and this was at the Old Memorial, a walking course with more sand than Daytona Beach and I found half of it. You know what's nice about golf? It's that everyone wants to help you. Everyone understands you have good days and bad days, good shots and bad shots. I like the phrase my dad used "the fellowship of it." Go out and have some fun with the guys! It's just a lot of fun!
(06) Question: Do you have any golf tips that you could share with our visitors?
Answer: I do have a good golf tip! Ron Sherman, the guy that coached down at U.S.F. said when using your driver, practice facing a slight incline keeping your weight on your heels. And guess what...I'm pounding it with this tip and these new Titlest clubs. Seriously, this is a great tip that has really helped me get on the proper axis or swing plane.
Comment: Thanks for the tip! We thank you for the interview and wish you the best of luck.
