| A Child Actor Comes Back US Weekly Deanna Kizis Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who for four years played high school hunk Zack Morris on Saved by the Bell, was always shy when it came to girls. In fact, his wife, Lisa Russell, 30, whom he met on the set when she had a small role the Saturday-morning sitcom, made the first move and kissed him on the cheek on their first date. “I knew he was the guy or me,” says Russell. “He`s charming, yet he`s responsible and really intense. That`s not something you come across everyday.” The couple, who wed five years ago, are hardly your typical young marrieds. Neither one wants children, they both hate to cook, and although deeply committed, they don`t know whether they`ll grow old together. “We`ve always said, ‘let`s keep this marriage going as long as we can,’ says Gosselaar, 27, who replaced Rick Schroder on NYPD Blue this season. “We never use the word forever. How can anyone know?” Gosselaar developed his realistic attitude growing up as a child actor in Hollywood, where nothing is forever – especially employment. “With acting,” he says, “you could be the best in the world and still not have any work.” |
