There`s one date Mark-Paul Gosselaar will not break, and it`s not with his agent or a casting director. It`s with his horse, Varano de Paporeao, a Paso Fino, which is a Spanish breed known for it`s unique, smooth gait. Three times a week the 24-year-old former Saved by the Bell star makes the 25-minute drive from his home in Valencia, California, to the ranch where he and his wife actress Lisa Ann Russell, keep four-year-old Verano. Mark-Paul got hooked on his horse hobby through the urging of Gale Anne Hurd, the producer of the upcoming movie Dead Man On Campus (he and Tom Everett Scott co-star as mismatched college room-mates who cause major mischief). “This is mu getaway thing,” he says. But afternoons spent riding at the ranch are`nt always as laid-back as they sound. “I`ve been thrown off a few times,” Mark-Paul admits. “We always laugh about it. But I`d rather it be me that gets hurt than the horse.” |
