Some Old Faces are Heating Up Some Hot New Shows!
Mark-Paul Gosselaar in Hyperion Bay!

He`s come along way since Saved by the Bell brought him teen idol-dom. Now, like Tiffani-Amber Thiessen before him, Mark-Paul Gosselaar has risen like a phoenix, snaring super success in an hour-long drama. His new show is Hyperion Bay, and it`s a definite keeper.

Hyperion Bay id about a small town, experiencing economic decline. Dennis Sweeny, played by Mark-Paul, is the brash, young computer entrepreneur who returns to his small town roots, where he butts heads with his older brother Nick, played by Dylan Neal.

Mark-Paul is thrilled to shed his high school, golden boy image and jumo into a role as complex and challenging as Dennis. “I`ve been able to express myself through Dennis, especially the relationship between the brothers,” he says. “My brother and I, in real life have the same relationship Dylan and I have on the show. – there`s never a hug, never a hello. It`s all spoken from very far away – yet there`s still love. You`re still a family. There`s a lot of me in this.”

Of course one question you may be asking: why did Mark-Paul change his hair color to the dark brown you see on Hyperion Bay? We made sure to ask him that very thing and the answer may surprise you! “I dyed my hair for six years for Saved by the Bell,” he tells. “Blonde was never my actual hair color. And then after the show, I did some things here and there – movies of the week, things like that – so I decided to change it. And when I filmed Dead Man On Campus, my hair was black. So when I auditioned for Hyperion Bay. The producers and directors saw me with dark hair, and they agreed to keep me with darker hair.
