Chronology of Themiscyran History (thus far) *Time Markers
are in red, most are Xena episodes
* Lysippe, Queen of the Amazons, marches her people around
the enormous Black Sea to its south-central coastal area, where
they find a river called Thermodon and settle on its banks.
There, the nation splits into three tribes, and each forms a
separate city; Lysippe's tribe becomes Themiscyra.
* Deoris (a child born of Amazon Deondrae) is blinded at age
twelve by a hawk, later learning it was the Goddess, Artemis, in
disguise and wanting Deoris to serve her.
* Lysippe, Queen of Themiscyra, dies. Her eldest daughter,
Celosia, then only nineteen, ascends the throne. Attendees at
the Ascension Ritual include Celosia's younger sister, Medea who
is appointed Regent, Thalia, Xanthea and others also original
Themiscyrans. Also present was Deoris Ronan and Kou Wainohia who
were born in Themiscyra under the reign of Queen Lysippe.
* Queen Celosia moves the Themiscyra Amazons to its current
location inland, south along the banks of the river, Thermodon,
located in the land of Dontus.
Time Marker: Xena - Season 1, episode 1
- Sins of the Past - Xena and Gabrielle meet and begin traveling
together.
* The Themiscyran Amazons meet Hercules and Iolaus.
* At age of eighteen, Deoris becomes the new Priestess of
Artemis after Priestess Aurora dies.
* Kou Wainohia goes on a twenty year nok'tana (journey, trip
or quest) learning to become Themiscyra's Language Teacher.

Journeys - Season 6, approximately episodes 1 and 2 - Be Deviled
and Love Amazon Style
* First Themiscyran War.
* Yakut and the Spiritual War against the Fallen Ones.
* Ares, the God of War, begins making trouble for the
Amazons.
* Mizera is defeated by Celosia.
* Ishtar, Shamaness Priestess, is killed during a Centaur
attack;
Time Marker: Xena - Season 1, episode
10 - Hooves & Harlots - Xena and Gabrielle encounter
Amazons. Gabrielle tries to save an Amazon from what appears to
be an attack by Centaurs. Gabrielle becomes an Amazon princess.
* Second Teloan War Against the Centaurs. Teloans become
allies with Themiscyrans.
* Seriana Chalion Ritani K'tai, daughter of Ares and sister
of Samsara, joins the Themiscyra Nation
Time Marker: Xena - Season 1, episode
22 - Callisto - Callisto tries to turn the world against Xena.
* Teloan, Samsara Athanase Achala Kakistos, daughter of
Callisto and daughter of Ares, also a Princess-Heiress of the
Teloq Amazons, is sent to Themiscyra as an observer.
* Jadea, sister of Callisto, travels from Eire to Britannia
in her last diplomatic mission to forge peace between the Isles
of Celtia. Having achieved her objective, she leaves later the
same year. Jadea eventually joins the Themiscyra Nation, pledges
her allegiance to Queen Celosia.
Time Marker: Xena - Season 2, episode
37 - The Quest - Gabrielle becomes Queen of the Teloan Amazon
Tribe.
* Samsara becomes obsessed or crazed to gain access to the
immortal fruit of Ambrosia. Others of the Tribe try to stop her.
* Valkyra, Warrior Woman of the Caucasus Mountains, joins the
Themiscyra Nation.
* Valkyra becomes the new Weapons Mistress for the Themiscyra
Nation.
* Xena and Gabrielle visit Themiscyra for the first time.
* Leda, the former Weapons Mistress, challenges Valkyra. Leda
is killed by Valkyra.
* The Battle against Kaia Kakistos and Ares.
* The war against the Majie.
* Celosia and Medea go on nok'tana. Jadea, Sorceress Empress,
becomes Queen (Latra) of Themiscyra. Valkyra is named as Regent
(Lyna).
Time Marker: Xena - Season 3, episode
57 - Maternal Instincts - Gabrielle encounters evil daughter
Hope who has freed Callisto.
* Thalia is gored by a boar during a tribal hunt. Does she
survive?
* The seven Amazon Tribes unite for self preservation. Jadea
and the Themiscyrans, Samsara and the Teloans (Samsara is now
Queen of the Teloans), Marcella and the Thermodonians, Vita and
the Romans, Laena and the Romans, Cyane and the Northern Tribe,
Vorgeen and the Eire/Highlanders.
* Teloan Amazon Elder Serena is killed by Jadea.
* The Great
Snowball War
*Priestess Deoris has her eyesight restored by her sorceress
sister, Domaris.
* Kou Wainohia returns from nok'tana and becomes Themiscyra's
Language Teacher.
* Queen Empress Samsara and the Teloan tribe leave Themiscyra
to find a new homeland.
* Samsara blames Gabrielle for the death of her Teloan tribe
that was killed by Romans. She betrays Gabrielle and Xena to
Caesar, allowing her mother, Callisto, to have her revenge
against Xena.
Time Marker: Xena - Season 4, episode
89 - Ides of March - Xena and Gabrielle are crucified by the
Romans and the assassination of Caesar (44 B.C)
* Samsara goes mad with remorse and guilt.
* Samsara Athanase eventually returns to Themiscyra.
* Merope poisons the Amazons
* Samsara and the final battle against Kaia Kakistos
* The war against the warlord Eric.
* The rape of Iona and the execution of the rapist
* Zia is given command of Queen Vita's Amazons when Vita
leaves Themiscyra with Queen Laena.
* Jadea leaves on nok'tana. Valkyra receives the Right of
Caste and becomes Queen of Themiscyra. Deoris is appointed as
Regent.
* Queen Valkyra develops An Amazon Cavalry.
* The war against Radicus. Many Amazons are killed.
* The challenge by Alcmene against Queen Valkyra. Valkyra
wins and remains Queen.
* Marcella, Cyane, Vorgeen and Zia take their Tribes home.
* Cassia, the Chief Healer, disappears.
* Pirates take several Amazons hostage. A rescue is mounted.
* Etelka challenges pirate to a fight to the death.
Time Marker: Xena - Season 4, episode
70 - Adventures in the Sin Trade II - At the Amazon Place of
Rest, Xena is forced to sacrifice Amazons and absorb their power
to battle the evil shamaness, Alti, and free the spirits of the
dead Amazons from her past.
* Queen Valkyra returns to Rostovia to assume the throne of
her homeland after her sister dies in battle. Valkyra gives the
Right of Caste to Tasida Latra Jadea, who has returned to
Themiscyra
*The new Themiscyran Queen, Jadea, appoints Seriana as her
Regent.
* Roman soldiers capture Thalia and Ratika thinking that they
were the "demon Amazons" that killed their men and
stole their Imperial Standard" whereas it was really Kiran
and Talis.
* Seriana makes plans for a nok'tana (journey) and leaves
Themiscyra.
* Queen Jadea banishes Samsara from Themiscyra until Chief
Healer, Cassia, is found and returned. Deoris' sister, Domaris
goes with Samsara.
* Karma, Samsara's adopted daughter, murders the Libyan
Amazon, Talis.
* Cassia is prisoner of Ares and now carries his child.
* Latra (Queen) Jadea names Deoris, Ti'Sa of Artemis, new
Lyna (Regent).
* Jadea journeys on urgent nok'tana to Celcia. Deoris is
named as the new Queen.
* Queen Deoris names Isandil Archila, Kou, as the new Regent.
* Two epidemics simultaneously befall the Amazons of
Themiscyra: Food poisoning from contaminated berries and
mosquito-borne Malaria. The village is quarantined.
* Lead Scout, Thalia, returns with Queen Zia to Rome to
defend the Amazons of Rome against the Roman army.
Time Marker: Xena - Season 5, episode
91 - Fallen Angel - In the afterlife (again!), Xena and
Gabrielle find themselves caught between Hell's demons and
Heaven's angels who are warring over the possession of Heaven.
* The Amazon, Rhiannon, marries the centaur, Chenaryn.
* The skirmish in the centaur village with Ursula's warlord
husband, Thaddeus, and his band of outlaws. Thaddeus is killed
by Alexandra.
* Latra and Ti'Sa of Artemis is visited by the High Priestess
of Artemis
* A mating journey is undertaken by several members of the
tribe to a neighboring village.
* Lupa's trysts on the mating journey results in her
unintended pregnancy.
* Kou Wainohia goes on nok'tana. Bryseis becomes Regent (Lyna).
* A mouse causes panic amongst the Amazons.
* Elina is bitten by a venomous snake. The snake causes panic
in the village.
* A food shortage occurs in Themiscyra
* The Great Winter Hunt
* Ares continues to make trouble for Themiscyra
* Once presumed dead, Chale, the former First Mate of the
pirate ship, Zerlina, was one of the pirates who took several
Amazons hostage quite a while ago. He returns to Themiscyra and
attempts to kill Alexandra to enact revenge on the Amazon who
mangled his hand during that hostage rescue.
Time Marker: Xena - Season 5, episode
92 - Chakram - After Eli resurrects Xena and Gabrielle. Xena
loses the memory of all the violence in her life. In order to
recover herself, she and her friends must join her broken
chakram.
* Chief Healer Cassia (pregnant with Ares' child) is found
and returns to Themiscyra along with Samsara, Jadea and Domaris.
* With the return of Cassia, fierce tension arises between
Cassia and Thisbe who had assumed the position of Chief Healer
while Cassia was gone.
* Again, Jadea and Samsara go on nok'tana. This time to try
to thwart the plans of Ares
* Against Amazon law, Faela still secretly carries on with
her male lover, Riva, who sort of remains forgotten and hidden
in the village.
* Some of Samsara's former army soldiers return to what's
left of the former army camp near Themiscyra and begin settling
in.
* A strange tribe of Amazons is seen making a permanent
presence and building up forces at the temple of Ares near
Themiscyra.
* The war against the Aresian Amazons - Themiscyra is
attacked by Amazons who worship Ares.
* Latra Deoris of the Themiscyra Amazons faces off in a fight
to the death with Amasis of the Aresian Amazons.
* The war against the slave traders - Themiscyra is attacked
by the warlord, Hisham, simultaneously as the attack by the
Amazons of Ares.
