The Dream
You say that I should dream; and so I can:
I dream of moonlight on a tropic sea,
I dream of lying on the starwashed sand,
And best, I dream you lying there with me.
You say that I should dream; and so I will:
I'll dream a northern ocean's stormy coast;
I'll dream a rainswept highland's rocky hills;
I'll dream you're there, and that I'll cherish most.
You say you want a dreamer? I shall dream
Of all that I can have and do and be,
And light those dreams, to send a sparkling beam,
If, dreaming, I may turn your heart to me.
