Aka the bit that nobody reads, although the rest of the guide probably falls under that too.

History

The original Monkey Guide was conceived at a time when the only other forms of humour in existence involved bad Ali G impressions. Patrick Parkinson’s superb Common Room Outcasts website was the place to go to read humorous newsletters, irreverent guides and slanderous remarks about the sexual health of the Carlton-Le-Willows Sixth Form Committee. After the success of the spirit guide (which was to do with alcoholic drinks rather than Native American mythology), beer guide, cheese guide and wood guide, the Monkey Guide was created. It ruled. Yeah.

Then nothing happened for three years. In March 2003, the Monkey Guide was extensively rewritten. After attaining a small but worldwide audience, an unsuccessful attempt was made to get the Guide published as a book, the lack of success being mainly attributable to the slanderous nature of much of the content. The current version is pretty much verbatim the edition that was sent to publishers.
