| Directed By: Henry Selick Starring: Danny Elfman,Chris Sarandon,Cathrine O'Hara, and Paul Rubens ***When Tim Burton was still training at Disney he came up for the idea to this film. he came up with the adventurous idea but could not get it made; subsequent directorial success brought more clout. Relies on a painstaking non stop-motion technique that took more than two years to film and is justifiably amazing. The story revolves around Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of the dangerously weird Halloweentown. Suffering from depression Jack stummbles across Christmastown and decides to kidnap Santa and rule over Christmas. Fast paced and is maintained by the equally breathless score from Danny Elfman. Not cuddly, best appriciated by those who feel for the macabre and or Tim Burton. |
