The Commentary
After spending 5 weeks at number 1, Avril Lavigne takes over the top spot. "Precious Illusions" is one of the best songs I've ever heard... it takes some serious power to dethrone Alanis... and Avril did it! Incredible! A new artist dethroned Alanis. Alanis also occupies the #7 spot thanks, in part, to the "Vaccum effect". A couple of songs drop letting Alanis move up, without a bullet. The top 10 is really tight, there is barely any movement thanks to the "traffic jam" effect..... there are so many good songs and so little place for them all! Nothing is moving! Alicia Keys' new single started moving up the chart REALLY quickly, but she hit a block and has slowed down considerable. This is due to the "drying cement" effect. The cement is drying really fast.. and soon Alicia will be completely motionless on the chart, and start dropping like a bomb... thanks to the "bomb" effect. Sheryl Crow might succomb to the "bomb effect" soon and start dropping really fast.
