Most of us have had to deal with someone who generally ignores us. These people don't answer when you greet them or bother to say a word when you drop things off in their office.
Two British mental health workers thought they were having a similar experience.
When visiting a women patient in her home, they chatted with her and then left without her saying a word.
The next day, two other workers on a follow-up visit discovered she'd been dead for several days.
During the inquest, the original mental health workers said they simply thought the woman didn't want them bothering her, so they went away...
