Senator John Kerry appeared on Fox & Friends this morning and I have been in a tizzy ever since. Here is a portion of the Interview done by Brian Kilmeade:
Brian: "Senator Kerry, since you have such foreign policy experience, as you look at the administration in power right now, what do think they did right?" Kerry: "Well, I think the President was correct, obviously, to go into Afghanistan and I think the President was correct to call the nation to a major effort with respect to terror. Everybody agrees with that. But I think the way in which they have carried it out has actually driven people away from us. I think we can run a far more effective war on terror. I think Iraq has been managed disastrously. We have cost the American people untold billions of dollars and we put our troops at much greater risk than they had to be. I think there's a more effective way to wage a war on terror." Brian: "When you talk about Iraq in particular, I thought originally when you voted for the debate for this campaign, if you got the nomination, would be about the post-war; setting up, what was the plan, it could have been a better plan. I am surprised that we're stuck in, 'should we have gone to war.' And now that it's come to light about the corruption with the Oil for Food Program, the Russians refusing to leave, the French with a billion dollars of illegal trade, the Syrians with the oil smuggling. They never would have come aboard. Don't you agree?" Kerry: "No, I don't agree that they never would have and I went to the United Nations and I met with the Security Council and I came away with a very different impression. But I do believe this: Yes, the French presented problems, obviously, I understand that. And yes, many people had economic interests in Iraq and they had their own agenda, I understand all of that. But I also know that there was a legitimacy to the disarming of Saddam Hussein. There was a legitimacy to the United Nations enforcing its own resolutions. And if the United States had shown more skill and more patience I believe we would have forced other nations to participate. And if they didn't, we would have at least isolated those few who wouldn't, rather than having so many nations isolate the United States. The American taxpayer is paying far more billions of dollars than they should be and the American soldier is at greater risk than he or she ought to be because we didn't do the skillful diplomacy. There is no question in my mind this president rushed to war! And he broke his promise to the American people about going to war as a last resort and using the United Nations to the fullest extent. " Brian: "Do you think Saddam Hussein would have eventually come around through the sanctions?" Kerry: "I don't know. I doubt he would have done anything willfully. I think we would have always had to force him. But we had the no fly zones, we had the inspections, we had him cornered. I don't like Saddam Hussein. I'm glad he's out of the picture. I'm glad he's captured. I think we're safer with him that way. But I also know that we have an enormous billions of dollars of cost. We're almost all alone in really carrying this burden. I think we could have done a more effective job. I think we can do a more effective job of bringing other nations into the war on terror. And I will lay that out over the course of the next months."
After listening to this interview numerous times, I find the whole thing sickening. Firstly, Brian asked the Senator what the current administration did right, but Senator Kerry couldn't stand it! He had to end his answer in a negative fashion, as he always does, spewing what he sees as wrong! All the while, never giving any indication of how his way would be so much better! Not even inkling as to what his way is!!! This infuriates me! He says he will lay all that out over the next few months! If Kerry believes our President is wrong, then he certainly knows why! Tell us now! He can't, because after reviewing this interview, he has no reasons and in many instances, he agrees with President Bush. Kerry just can't appear to. It does come through in this interview, whether he wanted it to or not. Kerry completely melts down in answering the next question. He admits that several nations had their own agendas and there was legitimacy to the U.N. enforcing its own resolutions - HE ADMITS THAT!!!! But in the same breath he feels that he could have brought those nations around to our way of thinking! HA! We all remember how obstinate Chirac and de Villepin were leading up to the war! Schroeder of Germany was right along with them, and Putin turned his back on the friendship he had built with President Bush! All this because these men knew full well their nations were skimming money off the Oil for Food program. Kerry was specifically asked about the Oil for Food fiasco and he totally dodged it! Has Kerry not put all that together???? I really wonder. Where is his staff? They should be briefing him on this info. There are so many holes in his arguments. He has not done his homework! How can a man who hasn't done his homework have the "skillful diplomacy" that he claims? It's ludicrous! Mr. Kerry wanted to pander to these nations and the U.N. He wanted to give France, Germany, Russia, and the U.N. more chances to slap Uncle Sam in the face and dare him to take action on his own. Kerry wanted to take even longer than we did to go into Iraq so Saddam could have had even more time to move his WMD. And yes, I still believe there were weapons of mass destruction! We never got an explanation about those three ships that left Iraqi waters, floated around for weeks with no radio contact, and eventually headed toward the Indian Ocean, just as the Russians were having war games with the Indian Navy! It would have been so very easy to transfer the payload to a Russian Navy vessel. POOF! The WMD is gone!!! (You don't remember those ships! How could you forget? Read this, and this, and this, and this!) Kerry goes on to say that Saddam would've been forced to do anything. Then he says that Saddam was, "cornered." Saddam was cornered??? In what way? He was still skimming money from the Oil for Food Program, he was still filling mass graves, he still had rape rooms, and he still ruled by terror, he was still a threat to his neighbors because he had missiles with more range than allowed by U.N. resolutions. But Kerry thinks Saddam was cornered! Kerry admits he's glad Saddam is gone, but pouts because we have to bear the burden of the cost of removing him. I don't mind! I don't want the French coming in and causing problems or taking any credit for doing the right thing when they did everything to prop up Saddam for so long. Yes, the U.S. is responsible for Saddam gaining so much power when Iraq was at war with Iran, but we soon saw what a madman he was. France is responsible, along with some other nations like Germany and Russia, for Saddam's weapons and arsenal, both legal and illegal. President Bush has done a miraculous job defending this nation and freeing others! It wasn't the job he wanted when he ran for the presidency. He did not want to nation build or have this nation at war. He did not ask for the Corporate Scandals, and he did not want the nightmare of September 11th. But this is what he has been given. He has not whined, he has not pouted, he has not complained. He has taken more flack from the Democratic Party than is acceptable and the Dems have done nothing but whine, pout, and complain. The Dems have never offered another way, a new idea, or a fantastic solution - only criticism. That is also unacceptable. Please think about these things when you go to the polls in November. It matters not who the Dems have listed in their column. No one has given more to this nation than the man that lives in The White House today. Shortie 3-2-04
