Hewwo everyone! So you came back to read about my amazingly boring life? Well, it's your time, be free to waste it hehe.. I was supposed to write all this two days ago, that's when the quest of buying Ang a birthday present started. Well at first I didn't really know what to get her. She kept saying that she's not that hard to buy for but she's not the one looking at thousands of choices scratching her head what to get me! So I went to #cheers, my home on the net, and I asked some people.. Well.. I got some suggestions and they varied from books to jewlery and from portable CD players to spaceships!! so if anything, it made me more confused.. But finally I did something very smart.. and with only one simple step I was able to make the decision... I just asked her what she wants for her birthday!

Well that's not even half the story, she asked for a tiny optical mouse like the one I have.. easy eh? So just get a mouse, a post card and cheap wrapping paper and send them to Canada.. But things didn't go as smooth as anyone expected. Last Tuesday, right after work, I went shopping around and I found the cutest little mouse so I decided to go and buy it that night, and since places stay opened until 12-1 AM on Ramadan here, I wasn't in a hurry. I went out at 7:30 PM to the shopping mall where I wanted to buy the mouse and the place was so crowded that you'd think that more than half of Saudi Arabia was there! The traffic was jammed, the parking lots were full, and to add insult to injury, they had construction work there. I was stuck in the parking lot for a whole hour! I wanted to go out to a different mall and buy the mouse from there, but I was stuck in the middle of a non-moving car fest! But eventually, after an hour that passed like a week, I was free and the road was empty ahead of me!! so I stepped on the gas and was on my way to the other mall, when a stupid guy came outta no where and on the front of my car with his stationwagon! So, now you can imagine it, being stuck in traffic for an hour and now having to push the brakes so hard because your life depends on it.. I wasn't in a good mood for the rest of the night really! Thankfully I was able to avoid crashing into that car, people around were staring at me, it's like the old western movies where the bounty hunter walks into a restaurant and everyone goes dead silent and just stare at him... I was the bounty hunter and it was like every eye on the road was staring.. so I drove quietly away and tried to think that nothing happened...

So now I was in the other mall, I found the little mouse with no problems. And I drooled over an AMD Athalon XP 3200+ 64 CPU.. If only I had more money! I went and got a card too, and I was satisfied with my acchievment so far. The wrapping wasn't much of a problem either, the gift wrapping place has UPS service in it so I asked them to ship it to me to Canada but it turns out that they don't do international delivery. So now I have to go to the main UPS, DHL or FedEx office to send it. But when I arrived there the prices were.. well.. more than ten times the price of the gift AND the wrapping! And the guys at DHL said that it was a discounted price for the holidays! 600 Riyals for sending the little package.. That's around 160USD! So I was set to go to Bahrain the next day, that's a country on a little Island close to me (around 40 minutes driving).

And so it happened, the next morning I was on my way to Bahrain to send this package from there, sicne there isn't a single reliable mail service in Saudi that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg! So I made up a story about getting my mom from the airport and driving her home and such, and it worked! On my way I started to wonder what am I gonna tell the mail office employees when they ask me about my address.. or where the mail office there is anyway? I only go to Bahrain to the movies or shopping malls.. But I thought to myself that I'll figure it out! Well, I arrived to Bahrain at 10:30 AM and started asking around for the mail office. They said that the main office is in Isa City, and I've never been to that city before so I was completely lost trying to find it. I wanted to stop at traffic lights and ask the other drivers, thats what people do around here, but for my luck, ALL the lights were green and no one stopped to show poor me the way! After driving in every single road, highway, and alley in Bahrain I finally found Isa City and was now looking for the mail office, and I was able to find it at 1 PM.. impressive eh? But now how will I send the present without a Bahraini return address? Well I just walked in the office, there weren't people there so I just walked to the lady behind the counter and told her my whole story and what I went through to get the present and how much it costs to send stuff from Saudi and I asked her for help! Well, she let me use her address and sent it for me for 30 Riyals! That's 5% of the price that DHL asked me to pay in Saudi! And now Ang is waiting for her present to arrive, I hope she really likes it.. Because it was a lot of work to send it hehehe

Well here's another update on my boring life. There hasn't been much going on here. Well, the weather got a lil cooler.. it's now 15-20°c most of the day. So I guess I should take my smelly jacket to the dry cleaners here hehe!

I reformatted my laptop two days ago. It works a LOT better now, and my webcam is working again. You can watch my cam if you want on Yahoo Messenger, my user name is thennstalker. I got my hads on a few good software too like the newest Nero 6.0.0.9 and Microsoft Office 2003, and I was able to find a copy of the new OS from Microsoft, Windows Longhorn. It's an early version and I'm still debating on testing it on my laptop or not. I mean, even the final versions of Microsoft products hardly work at all, let alone an early vesion. And, from what I read, it looks like a souped up version of XP and more of a memory hog.. so I won't bother with it right now. Maybe when I get my hands on a PC or something.. and that wont be any time soon.

Ok this is my first journal entery. In here I'll just write about my every day boring life so.. enjoy I guess!

I had a good day at work. Work lets off at 3pm now instead of 7pm, which is good. It's only for Ramadan and such hehe. So I tried to go and cash my pay check but the bank said that they couldn't do it and I had to go and check with the accounting department at work. Man I was hoping to go and pay my cell bill today but I guess I'll have to do it tomorrow. Joey, our accounting dude, said that it's his fault and he'll fix it so my pay check should be ready tomorrow morning.

I really don't know what I have to do for the rest of the day. I might go out later tonight or just sit around here as always and just chat or play video games. I'll start making another game review for the website and maybe post some pictures of me and such. I wish I had a life.. mehhh

well that's enough rant for the first post here.. I'll post here again again soon.
