| My name is Michael or A.K.A (NOMAD) WOOHOOO Updates!!! 08 A little more on me. I'm 24 and currently living in TX and I like it. The sky goes on forever here. I have many hobbies and interests, one of my biggest passions is astronomy.I take my telescope out every chance I get. I work at an Observatory I mean I volunteer. I've been volunteering at the observatory for about six years and I Love it astronomy is so cool. My other passion is art. I love to paint and draw. but I really don't do it enough if you put all the time i've spent on these drawings it might be 2 months ==================================================== What Inspired Me. I have always loved cartoons and animation. My favorite cartoon was the Thundercats. I always had these types of characters in my mind, humananimal morphs. I could never really get the hang of drawing what I envisioned. What really flamed my imagination and made me want to become a serious artist was when I saw the first Lion King movie. It really inspired me to take art more seriously, so I did. I tried to find someone who could teach me how to draw what I imagined. but as soon as they took a look at what I did they didnt want to talk to me any more. I looked for a long time but couldn't find anyone. So becoming frustrated from a lack of support from mainstream type art teachers I gave up and took up oil painting. I enjoyed it and learned alot from a wonderful elderly lady who loves art more than anything. But,her expertise was in different paint mediums and not in drawing. She was always supportive and encouraged me not to give up with my efforts at drawing. Several years passed with no luck in finding the type of drawing teacher I was looking for. I was ready to quit drawing for good when one day while surfing the net I stumbled upon a web site called The Manawolf Lair. Finally someone who drew the way I imagined! I dove in. From various sites linked to Manawolf, I have discovered a whole web ring a whole world. But in my opinion Manawolf is undoubtedly the best. Everything of hers that I have seen is magnificent. I have spent much time studying her art. Her attention to detail is amazing. Her characters have personality that literally leaps off the page. If not for her, I would have given up on my own efforts at drawing. So, many thanks to you Sarah Wheeler a.k.a. (Noelani Manawolf). II've all ways loved art but one day I hope to antend some kind of art school or college, and maybe make a career out of it but Eh never know have to see where life takes me Some of my other interests are: collecting! I love to collect all kinds of stuff. I have quite an extensive collection to the point that going in my room is a challenge.My main collectables are antique Zippos and Lion kinG memorabilia. I have a little bit of just about everything else! Astronomy wise, I have a pretty big collection. I also love all types of music(except RAP) and I collect lots of music. I can't forget to mention my pet cat Tooter. She's pretty crazy. I love all animals, especially cats, New news!!! my dream may be geting ready to come true i'm trying to get things ready for me to go to a art institute. I hope and prey I can make it I know I have a lot to learn but for never really being teached just looking at things out my window I think i've done pretty good well its time to hit the math and art books and hope i'm good enough for them to accept me =) |
