From all corners of the land came the signs of the Lord Of Terror's unholy Return. It is one of these occurrences, in the Emperium Castle of the Emperial Kingdom, which brought us together. The breaking of the 4 Seals..
In the deadly cold of night all slept in this Kingdom. People, dogs, and cattle slumbered in repose with the occasional yawn. Smiths were quiet, no loud clangs emerging from their forges. Only one person was about, save for the castle Guards and town Night watch. This person, a Wanderer with naught but a black robe and ornate staff, had only one plan. Spiriting himself behind castle walls, this intruder evaded guards and came to the room in which the 4 Seals lay. With one raise and swing of his staff, he broke them into a million pieces.
Blood flowed through the dirt roads as if to herald this event. Great maws opened in the earth, bringing with them every manner of evil. The Kingdom was no longer silent as the screams of the damned filled the night. When day returned, the area outside of the Emperium Castle walls was blackened and almost completely razed. Near no trace of a kingdom remained.
The dying and injured filled the skies with their wails. All trace of the demons, including the holes, which opened to allow them passage, had been swallowed up as quickly as it had come. However, the damage had been done. Burdened by grief for the people, The Emperium Knights knew what they must do. Having their most powerful magi divine the origin of the evil. The King assembled his Council and trusted Knights and prepared for the worst. The Wise Man, later learned of the location of this evil, its nature, and of a traveling wanderer who had only at morning entered the once proud Kingdom. The group this Wanderer had once belonged to amassed more knowledge about the evil facing the world than any known to man. The Prince and Lord at the command of their King sat on their thrones. The Royalty of the Council sat awaiting to take the Quest whatever it may be to defend their homeland. The Queen and Princess Emperia seated beside him, the King in desperation implored to his Knights to help save their beloved Emperial Kingdom. Agreeing, they took under the leadership of their King and Royal Council, The Wise Man Knightmist, and the King’s faithful knights, together meant only one thing ~ wrath.
Learning of the evils in Tristram, these people and other knights and warriors of Emperium sworn to avenge their home took up the task of destroying this evil.
So it was that the last Horadrim, Deckard Cain, witnessed the bond of his King and warriors blessed with the knowledge of the Heavens and the ability to pursue the demons of the Hells into the burning pits from where they came.
