Jack The Ripper | ||||||||||
We have all either read or heard about Jack the Ripper, but how much do we really know about him? Actually Barley anything. | ||||||||||
The Murders There are five generally accepted victims, Jack's MO was to kill by slitting the victim's throat from left to right and then proceed with the mutilation of their body. The mutilations were thought by some of the doctors, that carried out the autopsies on the victims, to have had some medical knowledge, because of the way Jack carried out his mutilations. It was also believed that Jack was into death fetishism, because he removed a uterus from one vitim and a kidney from another. In fact, a package was sent to a citizen in London's east end to George Lusk. This area is also where the women were killed over the three month period. Attached to the package was a note: "I send you half the kidney I took from one woman... the other half I fried up and ate." In the package was half of a kidney. Spectators believe that this package was sent by english media to make hyped news of the sittuation. Another message was left at the double murder scene of September 30, 1888: "The Jews are the men that will be blamed for nothing." As for the victims: Mary Nicholls was killed on the thirtienth of Agust 1888. Her abdomen was slashed. Annie Chapman was killed on September 8th, 1888. There was no signs of struggle altough she was disemboweled and her uterus was missing. Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes were killed on the same day, September 30th, 1888. But the two murders were different. Elizabeth had her throat cut but no mutilation, while Catherine's abdomen was laying open and both her kidneys and uterus were missing. Marie Kelly, the last known victim of Jack, was found indoors on November 9, 1888. Unlike the other prostitutes she had had extensive mutilation done to her. All victims were found where they were killed. |

Suspects There are many suspects in the Jack the Ripper case, so many you lose count after a while. Well this is only a short list of the many suspects. A Royal Plot: This theroy was invented by the author Stephen Knight, who had talked to some grandson of a painter who knew a Duke that had had a baby by a prostitute. The Royal family decided that the relationship would bring about the fall of the empire so they wanted to split up the two. So the prostitute was sent to a mental institution and that is where she died. Some of her prostitute friends tried to bribe the royal family but the Queen would have none of that. So the Queen and her doctor set out and killed off the prostitutes. Doctor Jack: Many of the doctors that had performed autopsies on Jack's victims, believed that Jack had to have some sort of medical knowledge because of the way Jack had carried out his mutilations. Altough a couple of the doctors said that Jack didn't even know how to use a knife properly. Other Killers: You can see the more you look around that almost every convicted killer around this time was considered to have something in common with Jack. Jack's murders showed much hatred to the female population. Jack did not rape his victims but instead brutally mutilated them, showing his anger and sexual frustration. Many people believed that Jack the Ripper was mentally retarted because of his crimes. Jack would have lead a very secretive and lonely life. ~Kaylah |
