If you sit back and think about it, every cause begins with a reason.....some of us have had loved ones taken from us by ugly means we were unable to control, maybe cancer or leukemia, AIDS, or another viscious, deadly disease. Some of us have had to face and deal with issues within our own selves like an addiction to drugs or alcohol, maybe an eating disorder. sometimes we are able to beat it, sometimes we go the rest of our time battling with it, and sadly, sometimes we give in to it. Many of us have had our children, or the children we love so very dearly stolen from us. They are taken right out of our backyards, they are taken from our schools, from the stores we love to shop in, from the backseats of our cars, and sometimes from the ones we know and trust The number of children currently in abusive situations is one that is simply disgusting. Our children are all too often beaten, burned, and left hungry or without attention. They are treated this way and expected to grow as normal, happy and healthy adults. The reported statistics are all to ugly and painful. Imagine what is not reported! Rarely are neurological disorders given the attention they deserve, and yet, they are powerful enough to claim many lives. Epilepsy, another incurable life sentence is an extreme and often fatal disorder. To have to live life with recurring attacks of motor, sensory, or neurologic functions with or without unconsciousness is unfortunate enough, lack of awareness and the willingness to try to offer a cure is simply unfair. These are the reasons for our causes. Too many people have lost too much time. Too much time has passed without answers. |
