Robot Battles, 8/31-9/1 2003
Westin Hotel in Atlanta. It's round. And it has a really cool elevator. Did I mention that it was round???
Team Test Bot drove the 34.1 miles to the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hotlanta for 2 days of bot bashing...well, sort of. This year, Robot Battles added an ant competition with an arena. What does this mean? Spinners. Most of the ants and beetles were still pushers, but it was still cool. Team Test Bot's record for thisevent was 7-5 with a second place win. Check out the pics!
First day. EVERYTHING, bots, tools, chargers and all, are stuffed into one bag. Bots in the back compartment, accesories in the front. It was too heavy to put on someone's back, thats for sure...
Ant arena. 8 foot by 8 foot, 1/4" lexan sides. It has one caged pushout that, for this event you HAD to push the opponent in to win. This resulted in some matches going to rock-paper-scissors. It had a roof section, but it was not utilized for this session since there was nothing that could possibly spew parts from the arena...
King of All Bots, Dale Heatherington. Pictured with Invertabot, 12lber, and Amdroid-A, antweight(in the suitcase.) This was actually taken on day 2, since my camera acted up.

Dale ended up winning ants and 12s(I was SOOOO close :P)
Second day, pits shot. Second day was the 12s and 60s part of the event.
The Team Test Bot pit area. Test Bot's paint was still nice and pretty at this point. That wouldn't last long.
This shot was from all the way at the end, after brackets and rumble. Notice the 2 Battlebots toys I got as 2nd place prize. Check out the major paint damage! I must have scooped under Storm, the bot with wire brush wheels, once or twice. There are nice polish marks all over the wedge. And under the bot too, which means I must have ran over Storm once or twice also...
This is a pretty funny shot from the 12lb Rumble. That is Banana, 12lb lifter, propped up on Test Bot and hanging from a conrer of the arena. TB ran off the edge while pushing another bot, and shortly afterwards, Banana zoomed off as well, but stopped just short of diving off. And we ended up having a T-stack.
