Neurological Hints in the Bible
These are some long shots, but I find them very, very interesting.

Recently, a neurologist has found when a part of the temporal lobe/limbic system is stimulated (or a seizure permanently brings about these symptoms) the patient is suddenly very, very inclined towards God. Interest in "worldly" things such as sex, wealth, or the likes become almost meaningless to the point where they won't even react to imagery related, where as an average human would indeed show at least slightly more saturated hands (GSR). So, they're not just inclined towards God, they claim to be connected with God beyond anything they've ever felt. It's not really a delusion, but a feeling rather, an overwhelming feeling of peace and understanding. Now, a crash course on neurology shows that emotions stem from the hypothalamus and limbic system, so more or less it would be saying that the "feeling" of God is emotion.

Interestingly, the Hebrew word for "Heart" roughly translated refers to the "seat of the emotions" or, the limbic system. Soul is translated as the whole of a person, their emotions, will, consciousness, or anything intangible about the body. All of those stem from the brain, when we refer to this mysterious "soul" business we seem to mean something beyond the mind, whereas the Bible more or less is referring to the mind, or at least the strange intangible nature of the mind.

This gives a very new meaning to: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength."

Secondly, in the gospel Jesus heals a blind man twice. The first time the eyes are healed and the man has perception problems ("He saw men, like trees, walking.") which is indeed a very real problem for people who are able to see after a long time of being blind, their occipital lobe is weak and unable to comprehend the sudden influx of information. Jesus then healed the man a second time, and he could see perfectly. So this is indeed the very first account of neurology.
