I did that's why I stopped took a few minutes and listened to the information on the 800 number below.
In a small 4 month span I went from work at home mom with a beautiful toddler; a few normal family and financial issues; other than that life was good, not great but definitely good to destitute, homeless and deathly ill.
Mother's Day 2004 my world shattered.My purse was stolen. In it - my drivers license, a new set of checks, my atm/visa card, my WIC checks which here in California include your social security number, my cell phone with all my business and personal contact numbers and so much more!
At the same time my work contract ended, my rental home went up for sale, and I was in failing health despite seeing the doctor.
By August I had spent hours trying to settle the theft issue including receiving a new drivers license number and altering my social security information to stop fraud, I had lost my home, most my savings were gone and I was deathly ill.
On August 1, 2004 my life hit bottom. I passed out in my parent’s bathroom. We still don't know how long I was out. I finally made it to my parent’s bedroom and woke my father, several hours later I was in the hospital receiving a blood transfusion. It took almost a week of arguing with the doctor and another blood transfusion to get the care I needed.
By September I Started a new job despite not being released from doctor’s care. We placed a toddler in childcare for the first time. By October we were seeking new childcare; we had been asked to leave due our child being a disruption. By November we knew our son had been abused by the childcare workers.
Today I have resources that would have really helped 2 years ago make my life 1000 times better!!! Now I have prepaid legal and identity theft shield.
I now have a will, my son will be cared for if something happens to me! I now have attorneys to call. What a God send that would have been in 2004 when the doctor wanted to take the "Wait and See" attitude with my health and when we found out that our son was being abused.
I now have credit watch and a team ready to do the hard work I had to do myself in 2004 when my identity was stolen!
