| You guys released a new album in 2004, HELPING THE WORLD TO SEE. How successful was this album and the tours that followed it? It was fairly successful, but not exactly where we want to be at. Some of these bands are doing really well and pretty much touring non-stop. We have not been touring very much, due to our obligations in our personal lives. Hopefully in the future we will be able to tour more. It really all comes down to the buisness end of music, which is unforutinate but it's reality. I Know alot of us would like to know what happened to Nathan Gearheart? Nathan basicly has a family to raise, and cannot afford to tour. It is totaly understandable and we all respect his decision to make family come first. I know it isn't something he wanted to do, but being a touring musician and raising a family isn't easy. If he was able to make a living from touring, then I'm sure he'd still be with us. Who is his replacement, and what does he bring to the table that wasn't there before? We replaced Nathan with Sean Vandergrift, formily of the band From a Second Story Window. He seemed like the best choice for us, and his style is very different from Nathan's. We haven't rehearsed with him yet, but we have been sending MP3s back and forth and that seems to be working fine for us. He will make his debut with us here in Phoenix at the annal METAL DEVASTATION fest in April. How do you think the fans will react to the new guy? I'm sure we'll lose some fans, but that is going to happen weather we like it or not. But at the same time, I think we will gain more. We are not going to start playing softer or anything like that. We are still going to have melody, blast beats, and death metal riffing. That's what Vehemence has been about since day one. Hopefully fans with open minds will embrace the new vocalist. You guys have had a few tours in your time, What band(s) have you had the best tour memories with? We've had many great memories with other bands. Decapitated were a bunch great dudes. We've had a killer time on the Mortician/Ackercocke tour to. All really great people. We've made good friends on every tour we've been on. What bands would you like to tour with that you haven't already? Man, there's alot. The Black Dahlia Murder would be fun. Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, UnEarth, there's so many. The list could go on and on. Have you guyes been writting for the next album at all? So far we're written three complete songs, and have about five more that need to be arranged. It is turning out to be our most challenging material to date. Have you guys ever toured Europe yet? No not yet. It doesn't seem likely until sometime in 2006 when the new album is released. We've had offers, but it's too expensive and seems to be more of a cost than a profit. Do you have any tours planned? We are set to start touring March 21st through April 6th with Thine Eyes Blind (a new band on The End Records). Starting April 11th through May 21st we will be hitting the road with Crematorium and The Red Death. After thoes tours we're just going to lay low and focus on finishing up the next album. Alright well I thank you for your time, and good luck in the future. Thanks man. www.vehemence.com !! |
