Sherwood had been in Skinless for 10 years, and being an internationaly touring band is a huge commitment. I think he wanted to venture off and try some different things for a change.
Who is his replacement and what does he bring to the table?
Jason Keyser is the new vocalist. He is the brother of our bassist Joe. Jason is metal as fuck and a solid death metal vocalist. He is young and eager to get out there and kick ass. We really look forward to touring and recording with him and we are very confident in his abilities.
Have you been writting any material for a new album?
Yes, we have a few new tunes and we plan on heading into the studio at the end of 2005. Expect the heaviest Skinless material ever! This album will be straight to the point, dark, and powerful. No experimental shit, just HEAVY!!!
I hear you're heading on tour with Deicide, could you tell me alittle about that?
Starting at the end of May we'll tour North America with Deicide, Immolation, Misery Index, and With Passion. It will be great to share the stage with thoes death metal legends and will be a great opportunity for us. 2004 was a slow year for Skinless with line-up difficulties, but we are full stream ahead now and excited to take the show to the road again.
The metal world today, do you think it's getting better or worse?
I think shows like Headbangers Ball and Uranium are exposing a whole new generation to metal. I see metal getting stronger as a result and more and more underground bands getting noticed.
Were you happy with the success of the DVD you guys released in 2004?
No, we hate success, we were hoping people would despise it and toss it straight into the trash....Of course we're happy with it. We had alot of fun making it and I think the viewers can see that we're having alot of fun doing what we do and we've had some great opportunities to travel, meet tons of people, and rock out all over the world.
Any plans to tour over seas anytime soon?
Right now it looks like we'll be heading to Europe in August. I don't have any dates yet, but it's in the works. See you on tour!!!
