First I want to say thank you for giving me the time to ask you some questions.

No problem.

Your latest album, Funeral Dirge for the Rotten Sun, was released in August of 2003. In the time after,  has there been any work on a new album?

Yes. We have lots of ideas floating around as we speak, but still have a long way to go.

You guys were recently on tour with Deicide, how did that tour go?

It went really good. Probably like one of the best tours we were ever on. As far as crowd responce and all the guys on the tour, I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Who are some of your personal influences?

Ahh so many, but here are a few: Darkthrone, Venom, Hellhammer, Destroyer 666, Burzum, Bathory...

Speaking of Bathory, how did you feel when you found out Quorothon passed away?

It took me awhile to get over that. I was in mourning for about 2 weeks.

Do you feel European auidences, labels, and press are more receptive to your sound than in North America?

I wouldn't know, being our record isn't out in Europe.

Is there any plans to release it over there anytime soon?

Yes. We just signed to Metal Blade Records, so our next album should be avalible everywhere world wide and there are plans to licence the first two through Metal Blade as well.

Alot of bands use the whole "Satanism" subject matter as a show, what's your views on that?

Well I can see how some people perceve it that way, but some  people use that angle as more of a horror atmosphere rather than some pc Satanist vibe. I would rather see more Satanic bands than all the Christ bashing trendies. It's not so much I hate Christ, but I have the biggest hard on for Satan.

Would you concider your music as "black metal"?

I think we are finding out own style of black metal rather than following some paint by number formula.

Does it make things difficult to write new stuff and tour with Ben being in Soilent Green as well as Goatwhore?

Not really. Acctully it works out pretty good, because I can sit and think about the music and come up with a bunch of already inspired ideas.

Any plans for future tours?

Not at this time.

Ok this is a non-music question. What's your views on George W. Bush?

I don't concern myself with politics.

Ok last question, if you could tour with any band (active or not) who would it be?

Hellhammer or Darkthrone.

Ok Sammy, thank you for your time, and good luck in the near future!

Thank you for the interview and death to NSBM trendies!!
