That Quickest Car

Recollections, come to see
Of being young, categorically

Don't just look, at what you did
But look at how, you foolish kid

Chances taken may have killed
You or your friend, but you were thrilled

Reason often would not stay
As youthful urge, jumped out to play

The biggest risk would make you show
To all your pals, how far you'd go

That highest bridge, that highest tree
That quickest car, would set you free

It now brings fright, thank God it's gone
Somehow we lived; I love this dawn

For those who led that sheltered life
Be glad you missed, and please don't gripe

Lover's Lane

We took our trips down Lover's Lane
What fun we had, there was no shame

A touch of love was often found
To grow real quick, like seed in ground

The test of time would then step in
To see which love would break, or win

When you were dealt a losing hand
Your heart did never understand

But time would heal that broken heart
And bring you back for one more start

And if you had to move away
Your Lover's Lane would move and stay

The mind is where this place must dwell
To keep romancing live and swell

Think to where you all did go
Then stop and ponder, singing slow

Today You Star

What great feeling to dawn today
You've made the grade, you're on your way

Adulthood looks you in the eye
You'll soon decide, how high to fly

Your childhood bore so many thoughts
Of friends, of tears, of what life taught

But now you face a whole new view
Your dreams will surface, encompass you

Excitement churns within your chest
A class of hotties, you are the best

That cool diploma you'll take to stay
Now that's a trophy to tuck away

I still remember how great the feel
There is but one graduation deal

Twelve years have carried you this far
Now wear that cap, today you star

To close I would like to impart
To teachers all, 'Thanks from my heart'

Off To College

Off to college, starts such a trip
You're on your own, watch not to slip

Freedom shines, before your eyes
It's like you've found, new life inside

You quickly blend, with friends anew
And start to learn, some new facts too

Each face to face, has different view
Keep to your ways, stay within you

Time may show, great pressured days
When all that counts, is making grades

You'll learn to cope, and get along
Use inner strength, to come out strong

The character, you grow will show
To all who watch, how far you''ll go

And as you graduate one day
Your hand will hold, that degree to stay
