Holbrook Holbrook has, such small town flair I love the feel, that many care You get the sense, that you belong When people talk, concern runs strong I was not raised, with this view Yet feelings grow, like pleasing dew Good people make, this place a home You get the gist, no need to roam Some townies talk, of long ago When farms were big, and cows were slow And how about, our touch of fame The Chief of Staff, from here he came I hope this haven, keeps its charm A friendly spot, a welcome arm And as we face, each growing pain Hold to this thought, small town remain The Poetic Plumber |
Maria's Our palate knows when food is right We want the best that we can bite The need for taste to satisfy Is why we come, we do drop by The air is fresh when we walk in Great smell of food, no smoke within Those special meals, Sicilian fare Have kept my interest, year to year So freshly made, right on the spot Maria's touch, is in the pot And when we need that pizza so This place is where we sure do go She has her help, right near her side To kindly aid, while we're inside And as for Peter, by the grill His moves are steady, with such skill So if you've read this poem here You're in her place, your food is near. If you're ever in Holbrook, stop in for some tasty food. And of course, you can read this poem on the windowsill. The Poetic Plumber |
The next three poems are about people in business who have had a very positive influence on me in town. Roger |
My Aching Back My aching back, had brought me down To such a point, an awful frown I needed help, to bring me back To build me up, get back on track The doctor whom, I chose to see Was - Matthew H. Kowalski A chiropractic, whiz indeed His hands precise, my pain soon freed His caring way, was always there His want to help, showed bright and clear And of his staff, I was so pleased Each job so fine, my mind was eased Please take these words, of mine to heart 'When you're in pain, his hands work art' A very thankful Poetic Plumber Click this line for relief |
