The Pink Carnation, the longest lasting flower, and also Gamma Phi's flower.
Gamma Phi Beta was founded by four women at the Syracuse University on November 11th, 1874.  These four women were Hellen M. Dodge, Francis E. Haven, E. Aldeline Curtis and Mary A. Bingham.

Gamma Phi was the first organization to be called a 'sorority,' in 1894.

The Chapter house that now stands at 803 Walnut, was built in 1939 for the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.  Our origional house was where a hotel now stands.
