| Name: Reima Virtanen Codename: Runeblade Age: 17 Nationality: Scandinavian Affiliation: X-Men Height: 190cm Weight: 80 kg Eyes: Brown Hair: Blonde Powers: Reima can animate runes that he sketches. They are easier to animate if he sketches with his runeblades. For example, if he sketches the rune of fire, he can 'pull' the rune off what ever it was sketched onto and turn it into fire. He can also combine runes to increase their power. I.e.: Two fire runes will be stronger than one, or he can use water and wind to create ice. Reima can only keep three runes active at a time and he can only focus on one rune combination at a time. Also, runes are one-shot powers, each only remaining active for a short period of time. Reima must keep redrawing the runes to keep using them. With training, though, he will be able to improve his control over them. Equipment: Two 'runeblades', each with the runes of earth, water and wind inscribed on them. He is proficient with them, although they are not his primary method of attack. A coat with shoulder guards, each guard has the rune of fire inscribed on it. The coat has built in straps on the back to act as sheaths for the blades. History: Of unknown location, although Scandinavia is pretty clear, Reima lived a pretty normal life. He liked school, he did sports, and was an all-round, regular guy. Perhaps his one quirk was that he was fascinated with runes. Taking every opportunity to learn more about them. It was while he was studying for his final exam that he discovered that he could manipulate the runes. Unfortunately, what he ended up doing was animating the fire rune and starting a fire in his house. Luckily, he and his family managed to leave in time. However, once they found out what had happened, they did not share Reima's enthusiasm for rune manipulation and disowned him. Alone, he continued to study runes, until he managed, by some way or another, which he won't say, to aquire his attire which he now wears. His history then gets a little fuzzy, but what is next known is that he then appears in Xavier's School for Gifted Children. Personality: Reima was originally a happy-go-lucky guy, but after being disowned by his family he's a lot colder than he used to be. However, at times traces of his previous personality shine through and he is still a very kind and considerate person. |
